The document summarizes the history and development of the pen from ancient Egypt to modern times. It describes key inventions like the iridium nib and hard rubber that accelerated pen production in the 1850s. In the late 19th century, fountain pens were developed using ink reservoirs and nibs. In the 20th century, improvements were made to reduce leaks and spills, leading to popular models like the Parker 51. The document also provides a brief overview of the scientific and technical aspects of pens, including their structure, materials used, and general properties.

Its archaic precedent is the pen of ancient Egypt. The first reviews his torical pens date from the tenth century although it is possible that attempts t o create them were anterior. Feathers oldest preserved are from the eighteenth c entury. Progress in developing a reliable pen was slow until the mid-nineteenth century. This slow development was due to an imperfect understanding of the role that air pressure was in the pen and ink using highly corrosive to many sedimen ts. It was in the 1850s when it began to accelerate production of patents and pe ns. Only after three key inventions became a popular tool for writing. These inv entions were the iridium nib covered in gold, hard rubber and the ink flowing. E VOLUTION. The Romanian Petrache Poenaru, a student in Paris, invented the founta in pen was patented by the French government in May 1827. In the 1870s, Duncan M acKinnon, a Canadian living in New York, and Alonzo T. Providence Cross created a nib fountain pens with a wire hole and a valve. The pens were widely used for engineering design, until it started to mass produce in the 1880s. The dominant American producers in this era were Waterman and Wirt, New York and Bloomsburg ( Pennsylvania) respectively. Waterman soon outstripped Wirt, along with many comp anies that sprang up to fill the new fountain pen market, and remained the marke t leader until the 1920s. At that time fountain pens were part of the tank by un screwing a hole and inserting the ink with a dropper. This was a slow and messy. Additionally, fountain pens tended to leak inside their caps and at the joint w here the barrel opened for filling. 3 http://puntadiamante.blogspot.com by Gerardo Sanchez When the materials problems had been overcome and flow of ink while writing had been arranged, the followin g problems be solved were the creation of a simple and spills, leaving system st uffing flexible dropper to deposit the ink absorbing ink.ÂOne of the most succe ssful filling systems was flexible deposit Crescent in 1897 by Conklin, followed by the slot on the side of Waterman. It was in 1912 when Walter A. Sheaffer int roduced the lever system, in parallel with the Parker button system. Meanwhile m any inventors turned their attention to the problem of leakage. Some of the firs t solutions came in the form of a pen "safety" pen with a retractable point that allowed the ink reservoir to be covered as a bottle. One success in this was th e Brown of the Caw's Pen and Ink Co. and W. Morris Moore of Boston. In 1907 Wate rman began marketing the pen security rapidly becoming the most widely distribut ed such pen type. For pens with retractable nib the use of screw caps that seale d the pen effectively solved the problem of spills. These pens were also markete d as "safety pens like Parker Jack Knife Safety and the Swan Safety Screw-Cap. P arker pens of the 20s. In Europe, German Günther Wagner Pelikan pen introduced in 1929, acquired patents based on solid ink pens of Slavoljub Eduard Penkala fa ctory in Croatia. The following decades brought more technological advances such as the replacement of rubber by the film, making it possible to create pens wit h a range of color and design more broadly. During the 1940s and 1950s, fountain pens retained their dominance: early ballpoint pens were expensive, prone to le aks and had irregular flow of ink. In this period appeared as classical models P arker 51, Sheaffer Triumph and the Eversharp Skyline. 4 http://puntadiamante.blogspot.com by Gerardo Sanchez In the 1960s, thanks to the improvements produced, pens begin to dominate the market of writing. However, r efillable cartridge pens are common even in countries like Germany or France. Ot her companies such as Montblanc, target a more select market, creating luxury pe ns as objects rather than for daily writing. Currently, trends focus on disposab le pens in bright colors, affordable prices and the plastic cartridge system as a method of filling. Together with the mass production of the pencil and the int roduction of paper, the pen has been responsible for a significant transformatio n in writing manuscripts and works during the nineteenth century. It was the for erunner of the modern office that is expected in the late nineteenth and early t wentieth centuries, with the introduction of the typewriter and the first copier . The pen and pencil to a lesser extent, replaced the use of relatively complica ted toothpick, a type of pen without ink tank that needed to be dipped in ink, u sed for writing. The pens are considered by many writers as the best tools to wr ite or draw with ink on paper. However, they are generally more expensive, harde r to maintain and more fragile than pens. Furthermore, it can be used with oil-b ased inks or solid. It is said that the pens require less hand pressure to write that the pens. This allows writing sessions are longer and more comfortable, le ss physical fatigue as well. Furthermore, the inks have an assortment of colors higher than those existing for pens, providing a broad choice of color used. SOC IAL IMPACT. The impact on society was the emergence of the pen was important for the impetus he gave to writing around the world, its use spread rapidly because of its efficiency and practicality. 5 IMPACT http://puntadiamante.blogspot.com by Gerardo Sanchez. In the future, thes e fountain pen in all types, are likely to be more efficient, and take control d evices which regulate the amount of ink according to the work required to develo p, these types of pens may disappear as we know them today and come more complex and practical devices. Finally, the cybernetic automation is progressing as may be required human intervention in a fraction for a specific job. Continue and w ill be an important link in the writing around the world. Scientific and Technical Dimension FUNCTIONALITY. The main function of a pen writing is to enable and develop work with a larger display. Possible Uses and Scope. Gral Mass Volume Property Definition Amount of matter contained in a body. It is measured in (kg) place or area occup ied by a body in space. It is measured in (m). The volume not only depends on th e amount of material, but also temperature gravitational force that Earth exerts on all bodies. Is proportional to the mass 3 Which expresses Weighing pen in a scale. It is the place the pen in space. Weight It the force of attraction earth gravity exerted on the pen. It says the move or when in repose. Inertia Quality that have the bodies to preserve the state of rest or motion in a straig ht line until it found an external force acted upon property that has the bodies to split into ever smaller pieces Divisibility Very unlikely that could damage or break the deal somewhere with no porosity nor mal because the steel and plastic structure is very dense atomic Porosity feature is of the pore area that either present voids MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
