Introduction:
We are planning to improve the public transportation in order to convince people to use it more since
they are unsatisfied with the current public transportation system. This project is call, Spider Web,
which will then benefit the city in several ways. The less fuel will be used if the people start to use the
public transportation instead of their own car. It will ultimately reduce the air pollution in Bangkok.
Furthermore, this would be good way to solve the problem of traffic jam since the number of people
using car will decrease simultaneously. The Spider Web project will be cost effective if it is used in a
long term. Although, it requires a large amount of capital to build and invent a new bus system.
However, in a long term period, less cars will be introduced to the street and that will lead to reducing
in amount of fuel used.
Project objective:
Nowadays, the main air pollution problems come directly from the high number of the car that runs
along the road. Due to the fact that people usually drive their own car instead of using the public
transportation, more fuel being used and more emission gas are released into the air. By using the
private cars, it causes the harmful environment in the city. Moreover, it also affects the traffic problem
which makes people become inconvenience to travel on the road. Therefore, we come up with the
Spider Web bus system to solve the traffic and air pollution problems. By developing the system and
feature of the bus, people would turn to use more bus than using their private cars.
Data analysis:
From the table below, if we compare the fuel used in private car and the public bus per kilometre we
could see that the private car use 10.8 litres of fuel in every kilometre with the maximum of 4 people in
a car. While the public bus which is available up to 56 people spend 17.7 litres per kilometre. When
we calculate the amount of fuel used per one person, it results that well use 0.32 litre of fuel if using a
bus, while we will use 2.7 litres of using our own car. Therefore, the public bus save the amount of
fuel used more than the private car by 12%

Application
It can be actually completed in a real case scenario if it follows this plan. As we mentioned before, this
project requires a lot of capital cost and might not be cost effective in a short term. However, in a long
term, it will be definitely cost effective since less fuel will be used, less pollution will release into the air
and less cars will be on the street so there wont be any traffic jam problem.
