Writing Consultant: January to May 2015

Was a sounding board for writers at all stages of the writing process. Instilled understanding of
correct higher order writing.
Critiqued writing for higher order concerns such as style, voice, organization, and word choice.
Coached writers to identify mistakes in lower order concerns (grammar, formatting, spelling) so
they could recognize them and not make them in the future.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Study Abroad in St. Lucia: August 2016


Laborie Boys Primary School, Laborie, St. Lucia
Conducted a summer reading camp to support a country-wide investment in literacy.
Selected reading materials for students ages 6-8 at reading levels from kindergarten to third grade
reading levels.
Read books aloud to students and supervised students read aloud.
Created learning and education activities and games to compliment the chosen books.

Conflict resolution
Planned and attended floor and building-wide programs.
Enforced school policies. This included being on-call for duty about once a week, giving
reminders/warnings, and writing incident reports.
Collaborated with a large staff of 15 other Resident Assistants, a Hall Director, and an Assistant
Hall Director. Attended one-on-one meetings every other week with the Hall Director. The whole
staff also met once a week.
