Regular Verbs
- Verbs ending in E, we add D: dance = danced.
- Verbs ending in consonant + y, we drop the Y and add IED: study = studied.
- Verbs with two or more syllables ending in CVC whose final syllable is stressed we
double the last consonant and add ED: prefer = preferred.
- Afirmative
We use the simple past tense to talk about situations that happened at a specific time in
the past.
-Interrogative
We use Did and the verb in the base form without to.
- Did you drink?
- Did she sleep?
-Negative
We use DID+NOT (didnt) after the subject and the verb in base form without to.
- You did not drink.
- She didnt sleep.
