    Job Profile:

    Solaris:

    • Installing Solaris 9 & 10 on SUN SPARC using CJS.


    • Experience on File system and Disk management.
    • Package and Patch Management. Adding and Deleting Packages and patches
    according to the requirement.
    • User management, Creating user-accounts and groups.
    • Administering (Creating, Mount/Unmount) the File Systems (UFS, NFS).
    • Backups of SUN and other utilities like Ufsdump, dd, tar, and cpio.
    • Trouble shooting and configuring NFS server, NIS servers and Auto mount
    environment in Solaris.
    • Monitor System Performance Parameters using iostat and vmstat.
    • Processes administration and management like monitoring, start/stop/kill
    various processes.
    • Monitoring Virtual memory, adding additional swap space as needed.
    • Scheduled various regular, future queue tasks by using crontab & at.
    • Working knowledge in services like SSH, Telnet, FTP.
    • Worked on ZFS (Zettabyte File System).
    • Live Upgrade from Solaris 9 to Solaris 10.

    Solaris Zones:

    • Configuring zones and setting attributes for zones.

    Solaris Volume Manager (SVM):

    • Implementing RAID levels (RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5).

    • Implementing root mirroring in SVM.

    • Patch administration which is having root mirror as SVM.


    Veritas Volume Manager:

    • Installation and Configuration of VxVm.

    • Creating Sub disks, Plexes, Logical volumes using vxmake & vxassist
    commands.

    • Creating Disk groups in cds & non-cds format.

    • Implementing RAID levels (RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5).

    • Resizing volumes using vxassist & vxresize commands.

    • Hot relocation with spared disks.

    • Online relayouts for reconfiguring the layout and conversion between layouts.

    • Online Backing-up Volumes Using Snapshots.

    • Deporting & importing of disk groups.


    • Root encapsulation & Root mirroring.
    • Patch administration which is having root mirror as VxVm.

    Veritas Cluster :

    • Installing Veritas Cluster 4.0 on all the nodes.

    • Knowledge in Veritas cluster (Fail over and Parallel cluster).

    • Creating Service groups, Resources and Attributes.
