Loving God,
You sent your son Jesus into this world to be an example to us all.
From a young age, He followed Your will.
He preached, healed and led people to You.
He suffered, He died and He rose.
We pray for us, the youth. Give us knowledge, courage and a willing
heart to be the disciples of today.
Help us to devote our whole life, thought and energy to the task of
making peace, praying always for the inspiration and the power to
fulfill the destiny for which we were created.
Amen.
1. The Lord speaks of peace to the people. I will listen for the word of
God; surely the LORD will proclaim peace to the people, to the
faithful, to those who trust in God. Near indeed is salvation for the
loyal; prosperity will fill our land. Alleluia!
2. The Lord speaks of peace to the people. Love and truth will meet;
justice and peace will kiss. Truth will spring from the earth; justice
will look down from heaven. Alleluia!
3. The Lord speaks of peace to the people. The LORD will surely grant
abundance; our land will yield its increase. Prosperity will march
before the Lord, and good fortune will follow behind. Alleluia!
1. Gospel Acclamation:
VIII. Song
There are many things that sorrow can do. It can bring us to a total
reliance on God that would not have been possible in the good times.
Those who sorrow and mourn include those grieving over the death
of a loved one, those who are in physical pain, and those whose lives
have been torn by war and strife. Those who mourn include the hungry,
the homeless, the persecuted, those without hope, and those suffering
from depression or mental illness. It includes those who feel their own
shortcomings and their lack of love for God and for others.
The word that Jesus uses for comfort also means, to encourage,
to excite, to urge. We become truly compassionate through our
experiences of pain. We are enabled to be Gods helpers and to reach out
in love to others.
Leader: Let us now lift our intercessions to the Lord. For every
intention, let our response be:
Leader: Let us pray with confidence as our Savior has taught us.

Lord, your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
Thank you that we can live in Your light and walk in Your truth.
May the things that you have revealed and thoughts that we have
shared dwell in our hearts and stir us to action.
Amen.
