Expectations for Turning in Assignments

Students are required to submit assignments on the due date. ALL WORK WILL BE
COMPLETED IN PENCIL. Missing assignments are defined as any assignment that has not
been turned in. If a student was in class when an assignment was given but was absent on the
due date, it will be due upon their return to class.

Homework Passes
Homework Passes are earned. A Homework Pass is valid for one homework assignment only.
If a student chooses to use a Homework Pass, they will not be required to submit that
homework assignment; however, if a student uses a Homework Pass, they must feel confident
in the material. A student SHOULD NOT use a Homework Pass if he/she does not
understand the material. In this case, an attempt should be made to complete the homework
assignment and the student should inform the teacher of their confusion upon returning to
class.

Hall Passes
Hall passes will not be given during instructional time. Please come to class prepared by
utilizing the 5 minutes in between classes to visit your locker or the restroom.
After School Assistance
After school tutoring will be available on Tuesday from 2:20 P.M. to 3:20 P.M. Parents may
pick up students from the safe room or they may ride the activity bus home.
A student wishing to attend tutoring must complete a tutoring request form that is signed by
a parent or guardian prior to attending a tutoring session. A student that has not submitted
a tutoring request will not be allowed to stay for tutoring and will be sent to the safe room.
Tutoring is not designed for students to complete missing assignments but for additional help
on a given topic.
If additional tutoring is needed, appointments can be made by contacting Ms. McDonough.

Recovery Procedures
The student may recover any quiz or test that receives a grade that is less than 70% by
completing the recovery assignment. Recovery assignments are worth full credit.
The first step in the recovery process is to complete recovery work for all missing
assignments that have a grade of less than 70%. Next, complete the appropriate digits
assignment. Finally, take the alternative quiz or test. The alternative assessments (tests
and quizzes) must be completed after school during the Tuesday tutoring sessions and prior
to the next topic assessment (test or quiz).

Absent Make-Up Procedure

The student must complete make-up work. It is the students responsibility to obtain,
complete and turn in the assignment.
