    MAIN SWITCH PANEL AT SUPPLY INTAKE

    Maintenance Frequency

    1. Panel Exterior. Check for physical or
    mechanical damage. Touch
    up paintwork after removing
    signs of corrosion.

    2. Busbars. Check for visible signs of


    overheating, loose
    connections etc.

    Check integrity of busbar


    connections and tap-off
    connections.

    3. Phase Balance & Check and report if phases


    Loading. are unbalanced or
    overloaded.
    4.i) Main A.C.B. a) check switching
    mechanism,

    b) check both mechanical and


    electrical interlocks,

    c) check isolation and


    withdrawal carriage
    if applicable,
    d) check condition of
    isolatable
    e) check operation of shutter
    contacts, mechanism,
    f) check dashpot oil levels.

    4.ii) Main Fuse Switch. a) check switching


    mechanism,
    b) check contact blades,

    c) check terminations for


    tightness,
    d) check fuse rating against
    switch rating and/or
    circuit chart.
    4.iii) Main M.C.C.B. a) check cable and busbar
    connections,
    b) check circuit breaker switch
    contacts (where
    accessible),
    c) check auxiliary equipment
    connections and
    settings,
    d) check over current and
    earth fault settings
    against records.
    4.iv) Main Isolator. a) check switching
    mechanism,
    b) check contact blades for
    signs of overheating
    or burning,
    c) check cable and busbar
    connections.
