and they agreed. Lisa said I had been sorely missed and wanted to meet up again.
Feeling the same and
still protective of her. I set up a meeting with her for the following week. on a bright sunny moming in November 1976. I made my way over to Charvil near Twyford in Berkshire. Apprehension engulfed me as I wandered up to the front door of the house. Lisa was waiting and threw her arms around me as I neared her. Tears flowed as I said. Tm so sorry that I left you behind. had I been able to. I would have taken you with me. She hugged me and whispered i my ear, "You didn't have a choice: I know that and never blamed you in any way. It was my Mum and Dad's fault that I was taken into care I would not lose contact with her again. She invited me into her new home and introduced me to Bill. her foster father, and Rene, her foster mother. Bill was tall, taller than I was. He stood about six feet three inches. He was balding and had a Mexican style moustache He was athletic in build and wore a blue sweater and dark trousers Rene had black hair, was about five feet six inches in height, and had dark brown eyes. She wore a flower print dress. I struck up a good rapport with Bill and found out that he worked with the Saudis doing chauffeuring and personal protection work. A friend of his named Terry had introduced him into the business. He had been stuck for a driver and had asked Bill if he could drive a Saudi prince around London for a month. Bill took the job, the prince took a shine to him, and Bill never looked back As we sat chatting. Lisa ened intently. It was so good to see her again. I asked more about Lisa's welfare. Bill and Rene then left Lisa and me to catch up reminisced about our upbringing and the way in which our lives had changed. After half an hour, Bill returned and I asked him who his charge was. "His full name and title is HRH Prince Khalid Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud." Just hearing the prince's name conjured up memories of the movies I used to watch as a boy with the Arabian princes in them. "I've just retumed from a trip to Cannes in the South of France. I stayed with the prince at the Hotel Martinez. Do you know it?" "No, no I don't I replied.
