    Project summery

    Using Surface Water for Irrigation

    C. Concise description of the project (Write down it English or Bengali; Sutonny font):

    Water is essential for both humans & plants. But we are facing problems due to scarcity of
    clean water. Farmers can’t irrigate their lands because their water is unsafe. Underground water
    sources are also used up. So our project is on how they can use surface water. For example we have
    used a model of irrigation in coastal areas. Since the water is too salty the water will first go through a
    filter of rocks & pebbles, then it will go through a layer of activated carbon & finally through a thin
    membrane that will remove the salinity. This process is reverse osmosis. It will be run by solar powered
    irrigation pump. It is cheap & eco friendly & it also doesn’t use any harmful materials.
