TWO POINTS IN TWO-TENTHS

 JAY TRIANO became the 136th head coach in NBA history, and first Canadian, to reach 100 victories, doing so in beating Memphis 99-
97 on Dec. 26. Triano drew up a brilliant inbounds play in a tied game with :00.6 remaining that was perfectly executed as DRAGAN
BENDER threw the ball towards the basket where TYSON CHANDLER slammed it home to put the Suns up two with just :00.4 left.
Chandler’s added to a list of recent last-second field goals by the Suns (under “Booker At The Buzzer” and “Good If It Goes…”).
 In TYSON CHANDLER’s career, this was his third go-ahead FG in the final five seconds of a fourth quarter or overtime, and first since a
put-back with :03.3 left to give New Orleans a 95-94 win over Milwaukee on Feb. 27, 2009. He also converted a three-point play to put
Chicago up 88-85 on Cleveland with :02.8 left in regulation on March 31, 2005, before the Bulls won in OT (Basketball-Reference).
BOOKER AT THE BUZZER
 DEVIN BOOKER made a 29-foot turnaround three-pointer at the regulation buzzer to force overtime vs. Milwaukee on Nov. 22. For
Booker, it was his fourth career fourth-quarter buzzer-beater to either win a game or force OT. In 2016-17, Booker made two game-
winning buzzer-beaters (banked jumper from the wing at Sacramento on Feb. 3, fadeaway from top of the key at Dallas on March 11) in
addition to a step-back baseline jumper at the buzzer to force overtime at New Orleans on Nov. 4.
GOOD IF IT GOES…
 The Suns made a league-high four game-winning buzzer-beaters last season by DEVIN BOOKER (March 11 at Dallas; Feb. 3 at
Sacramento), TYLER ULIS (March 5 vs. Boston) and Eric Bledsoe (Nov. 2 vs. Portland). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Suns
became the only NBA team in the last 20 years that such play-by-play data exists (since 1997-98) to have at least four game-winning
buzzer-beaters in a regular season (the 2009-10 L.A. Lakers most recently had four in the regular season and playoffs combined).
3,000 IN THE BOOK
 DEVIN BOOKER reached 3,000 points for his career vs. Brooklyn on Nov. 6, the fourth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 3,000:
PLAYER AGE REACHED 3,000 CAREER POINTS
LeBron James 20 years, 62 days
Kevin Durant 20 years, 144 days
Carmelo Anthony 20 years, 307 days
DEVIN BOOKER 21 years, 7 days

HAPPY 21ST, BOOK!
 DEVIN BOOKER turned 21 on Monday, Oct. 30, making final a total that ranks 4th in NBA history for most points before turning 21
(Basketball-Reference). His 21 30-point games rank 3rd by a player before turning 21, behind LeBron James (57) and Kevin Durant (28).

TIED FOR YOUNGEST OPENING NIGHT ROSTER IN THE NBA
 The Suns tied with the Chicago Bulls for the youngest opening night roster in the NBA. The Suns’ 17-man roster had an average age of
24.5 years old as of opening night (calculated using each player’s age in years and days as of the start of the season). The Los Angeles
Lakers (24.8) and Philadelphia 76ers (24.8) were the only other teams with an average opening night roster age under 25 years old.
FIFTY SEASONS
 The Suns celebrate their 50th Season in 2017-18, and opened the season on Oct. 18, 2017, in Phoenix vs. Portland, 49 years to the day
after the Suns played their first game on Oct. 18, 1968, a 116-107 win over Seattle at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
 Phoenix was initially awarded the franchise (along with Milwaukee) by the NBA Board of Governors on Jan. 22, 1968, becoming Arizona’s
original professional sports franchise. “Suns” was announced as the team name on April 25, 1968, and Dick Van Arsdale, “The Original
Sun,” was selected with the first pick of the Expansion Draft on May 6, 1968.
 The Suns hold the fourth-best winning percentage in NBA history with a 2146-1824 (.541) all-time record entering 2017-18, advancing
to the playoffs in 29 of their first 49 seasons, including nine Western Conference Finals appearances and two Western Conference
Championships (1976, 1993).
 The Suns have scored 425,714 total regular season points entering 2017-18 with the 107.2 points per game throughout history being
the highest of any NBA franchise.
 Entering 2017-18, 30,104,363 fans have attended Suns regular season and playoff games in Phoenix.
