Agilent 355 SCD and 255 NCD

Quick Reference Guide

Detector Startup

Complete Startup (from total shut down)


1 Turn on the detector and establish carrier gas flow.
2 Turn on the vacuum pump with the toggle button located on the front panel
of the Detector.
3 Turn the instrument from Standby to On, and allow the system to evacuate
for approximately 1 minute.
4 Turn on the air to the ozone generator and set the regulator inside the front
door of the Detector to between 3 and 6 psig.
5 Turn on the ozone generator.
6 Turn on the Interface Controller with the toggle on the back panel of the
box.

Daily Startup (from daily shutdown)


1 Turn the instrument from Standby to On, and allow the system to evacuate
for approximately 1 minute.
2 Turn on the air to the ozone generator and set the regulator inside the front
door of the Detector to between 3 and 6 psig.
3 Turn on the ozone generator.

Detector Shutdown

Daily Shutdown (Standby Mode)


1 Turn off the ozone generator with the button on the front of the Detector.
2 Turn down the oxidant flow to 0 with the regulator located in the front door
of the Detector.
3 Turn the Detector power to Standby.

It is recommended to leave the vacuum pump and Dual Plasma Controller


operating at all times.

Complete Shutdown (long periods of time)


1 Turn off the ozone generator with the button on the front of the Detector.
2 Turn down the air flow to 0 with the regulator located in the front door of
the Detector.
3 Turn the Detector power to Standby.
4 Turn off the power switch on the Controller and allow at least 15 minutes
for the burner to cool.
5 Turn off the vacuum pump.
6 Turn off the Detector gases.
