    TELEVISION - TIME LINE

    Television, an electronic system of receiving images and instantaneous sound,


    has been evolving drastically over time. This evolution was only possible with the
    discovery of the selenium of Jons Jacob Berzelius. But only 56 years later
    Willoughby Smith discovered the property of transforming light energy into
    electrical energy, allowing the transmission of images through the electric current.
    Chronology- Television over time

    1884- The German Paul Nipkow invented a disc with spiral orifices, distanced
    from each other, that when rotating swiftly, undo the image in several light and
    dark points giving an illuminated and recomposed image when observing the set
    of these points.

    1923- Creation of electronic television by Vladimir Zworykin;

    1924 - Demonstration of analogue television in London;

    1925- Presentation of moving images;

    1927- Demonstration of a complete electronic system by John Logie Baird and


    Philo Taylor Farnsworth;

    1928- Inauguration of the first analogue service (WGY) in New York;

    1930 - Emergence of the first high definition service (HD) in Germany;

    1950- Presentation of the first remote control (wired);

    1954 - Appearance of the first color television in the North American network
    NBC;

    1960- Introduction to the market of television receivers with transistors


    (electronic components used as amplifiers and switches of electrical signals) by
    the Japanese company SONY;

    1962- Transmission of television signals by the Telstar satellite across the


    Atlantic Ocean;

    1979 - Miniaturization of television, originating the pocket television with flat


    screen by the company Matsushita;

    1987- Appearance of stereo TV models;

    1992- Presentation of the first full color plasma screen;

    1997- Launch of the first plasmas by Pioneer;

    2005- Appearance of the LCD of 40 and 45 inches;

    2008- Release of Portable DTV with 3.5-inch screen and Digital TV tuner.
    Most recently LED (Light Emitting Diode) televisions and 3D televisions have
    emerged.
