Professional experience Projects handled as Principal Investigator: 1. Studied the morpho-physiology of C 3 and C4 grasses and legumes under light stress 2. Screening of varieties /improved lines of forages for tolerance to moisture/ drought stress. 3. Studied the physiological & biochemical basis of tolerance to secondary salinization in Lucerne (Medicago sativa) 4. Studied the effect of Dalbergia sisso on the associated fodder and grain crops under rainfed condition. 5. Studied the effect of elevated CO 2 on physiological changes and productivity of forage crops Identification of germplasm lines of various forage species tolerant to saline / sodic conditions and their characterization. 6. Identification of shade tolerant genotypes and study on nutritional alterations under shade in guinea grass. 7. Photosynthetic efficiency and low light adaptability for higher grain yield in hybrid rice. Training: 1. International training course on CO2 enrichment research and technology from September 20th - October 1st 1999. Sponsored by Asia Pacific Network for global change research (APN), Organized by Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and South Asian START Regional Research Centre (SAS-RRC), National Physical laboratory, New Delhi. 2. Training on “Salt Tolerance in plants: Physiological and Molecular approaches” from 19th November to 9th December 2001 held at Centre of Advanced Studies in Plant Physiology. Narendra Dev University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad. 3. A six month Training on “ Plant genetic engineering and Molecular breeding at 20-1-2003 to 20-7-2003 at National Research Centre for Plant Biotechnology, IARI, New Delhi.
