Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
The teacher will tell the students that they will be working on the weather. Before starting the lesson, the
teacher will divide the students into groups of four. Each group will be given a blank web with a type of
weather in the middle. (ex – rain, fog, sunshine, snow) The groups will list as many things as they know about
this type of weather. They will be asked to share what they know before starting the lesson.

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

During the SRT activity, the students will engage in the Nearpod activity. It will be teacher paced so that
everyone stays together and doesn’t rush through any of the lesson. The students will watch a video, fill in
the blank, play a memory game, and provide an answer to a short answer question.

The fill in the blank questions will have immediate feedback. The short answer will not.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the SRT activity, the students will work on a worksheet that has the students write 1-2 sentences
about each type of weather. They will then share this information with their peers.
How will the data be used?
This data will be used as an assessment for the teacher. This will show whether the student grasped an
understanding from the Nearpod lesson. I will be able to compare their web charts to their sentences to see
what they learned.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
My personal learning goal for this activity is to get comfortable using Nearpod in the classroom. I want to see
how active and engaged my students will be with this student response tool. It is important to see what works
well for you as the teacher, your students, and your classroom.
Reflective Practice:
I really enjoyed using Nearpod in the classroom for this lesson. There are so many different activities that it
keeps the students engaged in the lesson. The students get to work at the teacher pace so that they can fully
grasp the information and not just rush through all of the games.
