    Invitation Letter of the Great Ceremony of Vu Lan 2018


    To: Dear Monastics, lay Buddhists, and everyone,
    Discourse on Showing Great Gratitude to Parents states: “On the Full Moon Day of yearly
    lunar July, people with filial piety and deep gratitude have to repay their parents.” Indeed, when the
    Vu Lan Ceremonial Season comes, everyone spends their free time going to the Temple so that they
    can practice the Buddhadharma and attend the Vu Lan Ceremony together happily.
    The Vu Lan is a most important Spiritual Cultural Festival yearly to Vietnamese Buddhists,
    consisting of the following events: The first is praying blessings for the living parents arousing
    virtuous merit and longevity. The second is praying blessings for those who passed away were born
    up to a peaceful realm. The third is praying blessings for oneself and for others getting peaceful joy
    and happiness. And the fourth is praying blessings for the world peace, people obtaining peaceful
    joy. Through learning, understanding, practicing, spreading, and applying the Dharma into our daily
    lives, we can enjoy flowers and fruits of the Dharma pleasure for ourselves and for others right here
    and right now in the present life.
    In this year, the Pháp Nhãn Temple will hold the Great Ceremony of Vu Lan (Parents’ Day)
    on Sunday, September 16. On this Ceremonial Day, there will be the instruction and presence of
    the Monastics: Senior Venerable Monk Thích Tâm Quang, Thích Nhuận Tánh, Thích Huệ
    Cảnh, Senior Venerable Nun Hạnh Huệ, Venerable Hạnh Minh, and Novice Monk Pháp Luân.
    Schedule for the Ceremonial Day will take the following place:
    09:00 am Welcoming you all to the Pháp Nhãn Temple
    09:30 am Great Ceremony of Vu Lan
    10:00 am Ceremony of Roses being pinned on garment chests
    10:30 am Dharma talk about the meanings of the Vu Lan Ceremony
    11:30 am Performing the Ceremony of Taking Refuge1 in the Three Jewels
    12:00 am Making offerings to the Sangha and have cordial lunch
    12:50 pm Performance of singing Vu Lan Songs
    02:00 pm Closing
    You are cordially invited to take advantage of your free time to go to the Temple for
    attending the Great event happily. May the Three Jewels bless you all with peace and happiness.

    Thư Mời Tham Dự Đại Lễ Vu Lan 2018
    Kính bạch Chư Tôn thiền đức Tăng, Ni, và quý Đồng Hương Phật tử,
    Kinh Báo Hiếu Trọng Ân ghi rằng: “Ngày Rằm tháng Bảy mỗi năm, người con hiếu thảo
    thâm ân phải đền.” Thật vậy, hằng năm khi tới mùa Lễ Vu Lan, mọi người tranh thủ về Chùa để
    cùng nhau tu học và tham dự đại Lễ Vu Lan này.
    Vu Lan, một Lễ Hội Văn Hóa Tâm Linh quan trọng nhất đối với những người con hiếu
    thảo, bao gồm các sự kiện sau đây: Một là cầu nguyện cho cha mẹ hiện tiền được tăng phúc tăng
    thọ. Hai là cầu nguyện cho những người thương của mình quá vãng được sanh về thế giới an
    lành. Ba là cầu nguyện cho mình, người thân, người thương của mình được an vui và hạnh phúc.
    Bốn là cầu nguyện cho thế giới hòa bình, nhân dân được an lạc. Qua việc tu học, áp dụng, và
    thực hành Phật pháp vào trong đời sống hằng ngày, chúng ta cùng nhau thưởng thức những hoa
    trái an vui và hạnh phúc ngay bây giờ và ở đây trong cuộc sống hiện tại.
    Năm nay, Chùa Pháp Nhãn sẽ tổ chức Đại Lễ Vu Lan vào ngày chủ Nhật, 16 tháng 9.
    Trong ngày Lễ trọng đại này có sự tham gia và chứng minh của chư Tôn Đức Tăng Ni: Quý
    Thượng tọa Thích Tâm Quang, Thích Nhuận Tánh, Thích Huệ Cảnh, Ni Sư Hạnh Huệ, Sư Cô
    Hạnh Minh, và Sư Chú Pháp Luân. Chương trình ngày Lễ sẽ diễn ra như sau:
    09:00 am Quang lâm
    09:30 am Đại Lễ Vu Lan
    10:00 am Lễ Bông Hồng Cài Áo
    10:30 am Pháp thoại ý nghĩa Lễ Vu Lan
    11:30 am Làm Lễ QUY Y2
    12:00 pm Lễ Cúng dường Trai Tăng và dùng cơm thân mật
    12:50 pm Văn Nghệ hát mừng Vu Lan
    02:00 pm Hoàn mãn.

    Kính mời quý Đồng Hương Phật tử tranh thủ thời gian thích hợp của mình để về Chùa
    tham dự sự kiện trọng đại này. Nguyện cầu hồng ân Tam Bảo gia hộ cho quý vị an vui và hạnh
    phúc.
