Ideation and Progress.

Shape of the Pods are usually

Spherical or Ellipsoidal due to
their structural significance.
An Elliptical Shaped
Capsule is even more
impact resistant and can
accommodate more
people.

Also, having a fairly significant

aerodynamic form, it can be
more efficient in the disaster
scenarios as well.
A more technical, yet Design-front sketch describing the
elevation and the Dock stationed at the Shore area.
Scale of the Survival Pod is subjected to the budget and the
ultimate preferences of the end user.

Grid or Band provided at

the surface of the hard
shell, this prevents the
pod from sea debris
impact. This is one vital
feature for the survival
pod.
This Ellipsoidal Capsule is
efficient towards
Disaster Impact and also
shares the force
transferring throughout,
rather than damaging
the pod.

Tethering Port to be provided

at the bottom of the capsule.
This anchors the pod to the
bottom of the ocean, this
prevents the pod from
moving away from the safe
zone..
The frequency and severity of natural disasters is a subject
much studied by scientists, as we struggle to understand the
condition of our fragile planet. Now, experts in risk
management are making their own conclusions based on
scientific evidence. The United Nations’ head of disaster
planning is warning that failure to prepare for inevitable natural
disasters will have “inconceivably bad” consequences, especially
in light of cascading tragedies, where one event kicks off
another equally destructive one.

In the ’70s these would have been known as oil rig survival
pods. Nowadays they’re hotel suites. The sometimes floating,
sometimes land-based rooms were at one point something
people never wanted to have to climb into. Of course, taking
out the issue of basic survival and replacing it with modern
amenities alleviates many concerns
Images used are sketched and/or extracted from the respective Reference
