BEST FEATURES AND BEST PRACTICES

Kawit Oriental Integrated School of Fisheries belongs to one of the small

schools in the Division of Lanao del Norte. Even it is a small school that lacks
of buildings and school facilities’ still it has a good practice. Both the
teachers and the students come to school early every day especially on
Monday to attend the flag ceremony and every day in the afternoon, to
attend the flag down.

ISSUES AND CHALLENGES

Problems come in all shapes and sizes. And schools are not exempted
with regards to this. Schools, for it to grow and develop embraces the
challenges it faces with regards to the management or the overall teaching-
learning process of the students. And Kawit Oriental Integrated School of
Fisheries has its share of the said problems.
- The school lacks new building for junior high school students.
- Lack of books and other instructional materials
- Incomplete school facilities like school library, comfort room for boys
and girls, school laboratory, computer room
- No implementation of some school policies for high school because it
doesn’t have a school handbook
- Absenteeism and cutting of classes of students during class hours
- Unavailability of MOOE (Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses)

SMART GOALS (TARGET REFORMS)

By 2025, the school will have the new building for high school which are
conducive for learning. 80%-90% of the students will have their books with
them on each subject. Through the help of the parents, barangay officials
and other stakeholders in the community, there will be availability of school
facilities which can be a great help to both of the students and teachers.
Together with the effort of the barangay officials and through the
barangay ordinance, we will decrease the number of students who are doing
cutting of classes every time now and then.
