Seimei no Mori Resort: Nihon Aerobics Center (NAC), 3rd floor and Trinity Hotel

By train
Travel time is around 90 minutes from Tokyo station. The cost is 950 yen. A free shuttle bus is
available from Honda Station. If you miss the shuttle, please take a taxi from the station. The
ride is approximately 20 minutes.

Note to 10/10 day guests: there are no early morning shuttle buses. Please take a taxi from
Honda station to the NAC to arrive before the first workshop.

By car
Travel time is about 60 minutes from Tokyo, depending on traffic. Please check the Seimei no
Mori site for a detailed map in Japanese. Parking is available.

Ichikawa Jct or Ichikawa IC – Tominoki Jct – Chiba East Jct – Omiya IC – Hirayama IC – Itakura

Check-In
Retreat guests: Check-in will be held at Trinity Hotel from 2:45- 3:45pm on Saturday.
Retreat guests will receive their room assignments, locker key, and meal tickets at check-in.

Day guests: Check-in will be held at the NAC 3F from 8:45 - 9:15 am on Sunday. Day guests
will receive their locker key and meal information at check-in.

Please do your best to be on time for registration. Late arrivals should find a staff member when
they arrive and be prepared to go with the flow regarding luggage and workshops.

Check-Out
Retreat guests: Pack your bags and bring them to the NAC on Monday. Room keys will be
collected at breakfast; locker keys will be collected at lunchtime.

Day guests: Locker keys will be collected after the last workshop on Sunday.

Facilities & Meals


NAC
All workshops will take place in the bright, spacious 3rd floor gymnasium at the NAC. Other
resort guests will be using the gym equipment, running track, and pool. Only Spin Matsuri
participants will be in the hooping space, but other guests may watch us.

All participants will have access to a locker at the NAC. The lockers, change room, showers and
bath are located on the 2nd floor of the NAC.

There is a water fountain in the gym near the pool. Please use it to refill your water bottle
between workshops - stay hydrated!

Rooms
We will have shared suites in the Trinity Hotel that accommodate 2 - 8 people. The resort will
inform us about our rooms in early October and we will assign roommates before check-in. If
you registered as a pair or group, we will try to keep you together in one room. If you have a
roommate preference or want a smoking room, please let us know as soon as possible.

Suites feature twin beds, sofa beds, and Japanese style futons (depending on our room
assignments), shared bathrooms and bidet toilets. Linens, yukata robes, and toiletries are
provided. Room keys will be limited; share the key to your room and do not lose it. There is a
fee for lost keys.

Dining
Meals are served buffet style at the Bistro NAC on the first floor. There are choices for most
diets, from vegan to omnivore. Meal times will be posted and announced. When you go to the
dining room, present your meal ticket to the staff. Spin Matsuri is assigned a block of tables
for every meal. Please check the table numbers as you enter the dining area. Do not lose your
meal tickets!

Meals begin with dinner on Saturday night and end with lunch on Monday. If you like to snack
between meals, bring your own nibbles. Snacks are not available outside mealtimes.

Buses
Shuttle buses run on a regular schedule from the NAc to the hotel and other points on the
resort. The times are posted in the lobby of the NAC. We will also have special buses to the
hotel after the spin party and chill night; please respect the drivers and fellow spinners by
boarding the buses on time.

If you wish to walk between the NAC and hotel or if you miss the shuttle, it is about a 15 minute
stroll along a shaded path. This route is dark at night; please be careful.

Workshops
Retreat guests can attend all workshops; day guests attend workshops from 9:30 on Sunday.

Extra Activites and Sign-Ups


Spin Party - Your Hoop Character! Saturday at 8pm
Who are you when you’re hooping? A ballerina, zen master, superstar, clown? Create your
character and introduce yourself at the spin party. Wear your glittery best, your craziest
costume, fairy wings, or whatever represents your hoop character. Celebrate the start of the
weekend with a dance party. We’ll have rocking tunes, you bring your hoops and dance moves!

Spin Party Performances Saturday at 9pm


Show your talent with a song, dance, poem, joke or any sort of spinning arts. Everyone is
welcome to perform a short (~5 minute) piece of their talent. A sign-up sheet for the show will
be at the registration table on Saturday. If your performance needs music, bring your iPod,
please.

Free Market Sunday 8-9:30pm


Spin market shopping! Launch your new accessories lineup, sell hoops, discount your used
costumes or sell anything you think spinners might like. Vendors will have a 2m square space
on the floor of the NAC; please man your own booth and bring your display, change and signs
as needed. Sign-up for the market will be at lunch on Sunday. There is no charge to be a
vendor. Shoppers, bring cash!

Chill Night Sunday 8-10pm


* Yoga Stretch - relax your body after a long day with a yoga stretch lead by Shanel
* Mandala Creation - help to make a beautiful circular artwork for our closing ceremony
* Costume Workshop - bring a t-shirt and learn how to remake and embellish it into a costume
* Theta Healing - mini sessions to heal your spirit and put you on a forward path
* World Hoop Day - 1000 yen buys a hoop for a child who needs some fun.
* Hoop Jam - for those who haven’t had enough spinning
If you’d like to offer a mini-workshop, creative class, or service during chill night, please let us
know by 10/5.

Intentions Altar All weekend


Write your wishes, dreams and intentions for the weekend and share them at the altar in the
NAC. Bring any lucky charm or mascot that you love; it can watch over you from the altar and
go home with you recharged with the energy and spirit of Spin Matsuri.

Pillow Tent All weekend


If you need a place to unwind during breaks or want to observe the action from a comfy spot,
you’ll find a relaxing place to rest in the Pillow Tent in the NAC.

Rules and Such


Announcements and Notices
We will make announcements between sessions and before meals as needed.
In the event of unexpected changes, please be flexible and ready to go with the flow.
Schedules will be posted in the hooping space.

Resort and Environment


We request your tolerance and understanding inside and outside the hoop.
Respect the other resort guests by refraining from loud noises in public spaces after 9pm.
Fire spinning is not permitted anywhere at the resort.
Please smoke only in designated areas.
Alcohol is allowed, but drink in moderation; hooping with a hangover is not fun.
Do not bring recreational drugs to Spin Matsuri.
In the event of a personal emergency, we regret that tickets will not be refunded.
