Propagation Procedure
1. Open vial according to enclosed instructions.
Biosafety Level 2. From a single tube of #18 broth (5 to 6 mL), withdraw approximately 0.5 to 1.0 mL with a Pasteur or 1.0 mL
2 pipette and use to rehydrate the entire pellet.
3. Aseptically transfer the rehydrated pellet back into the broth tube. Mix well.
4. Use several drops of the suspension to inoculate an agar slant and/or plate.
5. Incubate the tubes and plate at 37°C for 24 hours.

Colonies on #18 plates are small, white, opaque, mucoid, round, and domed. On sheep blood agar plates,
betahemolysis is observed. It is advisable to transfer from agar to agar to maintain MIC values.
