What this module is about
Good day! This module is about Machine Shorthand. In this
module you will learn new skills and new information. You may gain
some knowledge to develop your skills and some techniques on
proper keyboarding. This module is not easy to do. It needs deeper
understanding to understand the instructions. Prepare yourself
because this module will help you to find out the secrets of
producing good quality in Machine Shorthand.

This will give you a better understanding of Machine Shorthand


and you should remember to maintain your good posture and charm
in operating the machine.

What you are expected to learn:


In this module, you are expected to:

1. Be familiarized with machine shorthand keyboard.

2. apply the new abbreviations in machine shorthand

3. Illustrate the proper home keys of machine shorthand.

4. Identify the consonant compounds by depressing the proper

keys.

5. Learn the New Keys: Number 2 and 7

6. Read the reading tape notes with speed and accuracy.

7. Practice typing short sentences with a quick and relaxed

stroke.

Let’s Summarize….

In this module you learned the new


abbreviations, new keys: number 2 and 7 and the
consonant compounds: SH, TH, and WH. You
gained more knowledge about the different new
sounds and familiarized in Machine shorthand.
Be able to take a speed test as accurately as you
can. Try to increase your rate by firm
determination to beat your best. Some of the
derivatives are difficult in your first try.
Remember each and you will soon realize that as
go on each one will be easily be memorized. And
when writing numbers, keep your fingers slightly
curved and try to write the number with the tip
of your finger. Be sure to feel the crack between
