Lefkort 2018 Thai Nine Spice is an electro acoustic piece for one performer, electric bass and electronics. Approximate runtime: 4:30 Recommended set up includes: • Laptop running integra live with the Thai nine spice integra live patch (Email me at alexsanderlefkort@gmail.com) • A midi controller capable of 5 note on/note off messages and one continuous control message. (Any capable midi controller will work, however in my setup I am using an Alesis v25 midi controller with the bottom 4 touchpads triggering the 4 scenes of the integra patch. A sustain pedal whose note on message triggers the “bang” for the freeze of the spectral freeze module, and whose note off message triggers the “bang” for the release of the spectral freeze module in each of the first 3 scenes. The first knob’s continuous control message is set to modify the pitch bend 1 module in scene 2.) • A five string electric bass • A quarter inch audio jack cable • An audio interface with at least 1 quarter inch in and at least 2 audio outputs • A suitable mode of amplification • Other cords and adapters as needed for your specific set up.
• The rehearsal marks give instruction on scene changes to be triggered with the midi controller along with approximate timings for each change. • X note heads refer to striking muted strings of the instrument in this context.
