1. Verify that the Windows Firewall settings for HTTP port 80 and HTTPS port 443 are
enabled.
a. On LON-SVR3, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
b. In Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click Windows Firewall.
c. In Windows Firewall, click Advanced settings.
d. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window, click Inbound Rules.
e. When the Inbound Rules list is displayed, verify that the following rules have
been enabled:
i. World Wide Web Services (HTTPS Traffic-In)
ii. World Wide Web Services (HTTP Traffic-In)
f. Close the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window.
g. Close Windows Firewall.
2. Verify that no installation errors occurred in the System log with Event Viewer.
a. From the taskbar, click Server Manager.
b. In Server Manager, click the Tools menu, and then click Event Viewer.
c. In the Event Viewer navigation pane, expand Windows Logs, and then click the
System log.
d. In the Actions pane, click Filter Current Log.
e. On the Filter tab, in the Logged list select Last hour.
f. For Event Level, click Critical, Warning, and Error, and then click OK.
g. View the events in the System log. Specifically look for events relating to the IIS
installation (other events may be present). Once you have confirmed there are no
IIS installation errors, close the Event Viewer.
h. Close Server Manager if it is still open.

1. When you finish the lab, revert the virtual machine back to its initial state. To do this,
complete the following steps:
a. On the host computer, start Hyper-V Manager.
b. In the Virtual Machines list, right-click 10972B-LON-SVR3, and then click
Shutdown.
c. In the Shut Down Machine dialog box, click Shut Down.
d. When the virtual machine has completely shut down, in the Virtual Machines list,
right-click 10972B-LON-SVR3, and then click Revert.
e. In the Revert Virtual Machine dialog box, click Revert.
Result: After completing this exercise, you should have verified the proper operation of a
new IIS installation.
