b. Use the different prepositions in different sentences accurately; and
c. Appreciate the importance of prepositions in different sentences, paragraphs, and short stories.

A. Preliminary Activities

Okay, what are you going to do while
watching a video? Do you have to talk to your
seatmate or make a noise while watching?
Do you have to stand while watching? No.
You only have to watch and understand the Yes, teacher.

bird.
What can you say about the picture? It is clean and beautiful.

Example 1 The dog is in the doghouse.
Everybody please read the sentence. The dog is inside the doghouse.
Again, where is the dog? Inside the doghouse.
What is the preposition used in the sentence? Inside
Very Good! We use the preposition in or
inside when the noun is inside something. So
we can also say that: The dog is inside the
doghouse.
Another example,
Example 2 We are in the room.
Example 3The books are in the bookshelf.
Class I have here a ball and a box. Can you (putting the ball in the box)
please put the ball in the box?
Very Good!
Let’s go back to the picture. Take a look at the Fruits, nest, bird.
tree. What can you see?

Correct! There is a bird’s nest on the tree.
Everybody please read the sentence. The nest is on the tree.

Very good! We use preposition on if the noun
is physically touching or attached to
something else.
Another example,
The clock is on the wall.
The electric fan is on the ceiling.
Now, can you please put this ball on the (putting the ball on the chair)
chair?
Very good!
Do you understand how to use the preposition Yes, teacher.
on?
Where are you sitting right now? On the chair.
Very good. Now take a look at the chair in the
picture.

Where is the chair, class?
Very good! We use the preposition beside
when the noun is near or next to something
else.
Another examples,
Our room is beside the room of section daisy.
The mirror is beside the bookshelf. (putting the ball beside the box)
Now, can you please put this ball beside the
box?

Next look at the plant on the picture.

The plant is in between the house and the
doghouse
Where is the plant? Between the house and the doghouse.
Very good! What preposition used in the between
sentence?
We use the preposition between if the noun is
in the middle of two objects. For example,
Juan is in between (name) and (name).
Can you please put this ball between the box (putting the ball between the box and the bag)
and the bag?
Very good!
