The School as a Learning Resource Centre.
1. Are the resource materials arranged properly according to their functions and
characteristics?
Yes, the teacher that we observe teach the students about the EDSA
REVUOTION using these materials.
TV for Video presentation and Power point
Flashcards/Pictures
Evaluation Materials
Every materials was used during discussion. The materials have a used in
every way, with the materials the student’s attention are focused onto what
the teacher is teaching. With the materials the lesson is more interesting to
the students and they can understand it more clearly.
2. Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the
teacher? Why? Why not?
Yes and no, yes because the materials that the teacher is using has an easy
access considering that it’s hers, and no because when they have a new
topic they don’t have a book so they need to search about the topic browse
the internet which makes it a bit difficult for them. The time they use for
searching on the web and the time for making their lesson plan they don’t
have enough time for their self.
3. What are the strengths of the Learning Resource Center? What are its weaknesses?
What suggestions can you male?
The strength of the Learning Resource Center is the libraries, faculties,
students and teachers with educational resources, including journals,
teaching resources, state testing files, and hands-on learning materials. The
Learning Resources Center is important so the learners can have a close-to-
reality experience. The school has resources that are very important to the
teaching- learning process. Electronic resources were used as means of
learning new concepts and new ideas to the learners. Like Science
laboratory are the place where they can engage in a close-to-reality kind of
experience since the laboratory has many real-like figures and equipment’s
useful for their learning. The weakness of it some could be the teacher not
knowing his/her students every well. If the students has an Individual
Education Plan there may be too little information or the wrong
information about the student. There may not be enough staffing. Children
who need special service or an individual aide may not receive this because
the school district needs more people. These are some of the weaknesses I
can think of, but these weakness can be avoided. Be organized, be as
prepared as you can, and be on your toes. Because who knows what the
next day will bring you.
4. Why does a teacher use a variety of educational technology in teaching?
The teacher uses varieties of educational technology in teaching is to get
more information’s and get the attention of the students in learning the
subject or the topic. This also enhance the student’s interest in learning and
to improve more.
Episode No: 2
Episode No.3
1. What do you think prompted the teacher to choose the materials/learning resources
that she/he used?
The teacher is promoted to use the flash cards, TV, and picture is because it
is the perfect materials about the history lesson. The topic is about the
EDSA REVOLUTION so it is the perfect to use those materials. The
documentaries about what happened during that time. And the pictures or
the flashcards that uses as the pictures to show who takes part at the
historic event.
2. What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be managed?
The only difficulty that the teacher had is the wiring of the monitor
because it is a bit loose. They can easily fix this damage by regularly
checking the wirings and the other equipment’s.
3. Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why? Why not?
Yes because learners today are more prone to technologies, they easily get
the attention of it and they can easily learn using the effective materials
that the teacher use are getting the attention of the students. And the
leaners are actively answer the questions and interact with the teacher.
They’re active in during the discussion.
Episode No.4
1. Are the available materials appropriate for your target grade level?
Yes, because the students these day are more prone to technology, so that
they can easily catch their attention during discussion. And also this
challenged you as a future teacher to be more creative during teaching.
2. List down those that can be useful for your topic. What other materials can you
make? (like flash cards, posters, cut outs, etc.)?
If your topic is History, like the Pearl Harbour you’ll be using video
presentation to show some videos about what happen to the tragic event.
Flash cards or pictures of the people how is important during the historic
event. Hand outs that so that they can read it to get an idea about the topic.
3. What are the benefits of doing a survey of available materials for making your own
materials?
To have an idea about on what your materials should be if it’s going to be
effective or going to be suitable to the topic that you’re going to tackle.
4. What tips can you give to future teachers regarding preparation of teaching
materials?
The tips that I may give is that don’t be nervous and don’t over think.
Observe the students that you’re going to teach, observe what are their
strength and weaknesses so that you can adjust. Enjoy teaching and make
every seconds counts. Never give 100% at work, they’ll expect that
everyday, always give 50%, so when you give 25% they’ll just think you’re
having an off day and if you ever give 75% they’ll give you a praise.
