Topic Unit 1 : Hooray! We are back
Content 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to listen
Standard and respond appropriately in formal and informal situations for a
variety of purposes.
Learning 1.2.1 Able to participate in daily conversations :
Standard (a) exchange greetings
(b) introduce oneself
Learning By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :
objective a) Know their friends’ names
b) Talk about themselves
c) Introduce themselves to their friends.
Activities 1. The teacher introduces herself to the pupils.
2. The teacher asks pupils to introduce themselves to their friends one by
one.
3. The teacher explains the usage of question mark and full stop.
4. The teacher and the pupils read the example of asking and answering
questions in the textbook. (pg 2)
5. The teacher calls a few pupils to come in front and practice asking and
answering themselves with each other in a circle.
6. The teacher calls two pupils to act out the phone conversation.
7. In pairs, the pupils practice the dialogue with their friends.
8. The teacher checks the pupils’ previous knowledge of phonemes in
Year 1.

Activities 1. The teacher reads the passage in the textbook and the pupils repeat
after her.
2. The teacher explains about the passage to the pupils.
3. The teacher asks the pupils a few questions to check their
understanding.
4. The teacher asks the pupils to give opinion about which present would
they give to their friends.

5. The teacher asks the pupils to sit in pairs and ask what do their friends
like to have as present.
6. The teacher reads the next text and the pupils repeat after her.

question mark.
2. The teacher reads the message in the postcard and gets the pupils to
punctuate the message correctly.
3. The pupils rewrite the message in their exercise book.
4. The pupils complete the activity on page 6 in the AB.
