2.0 General : -
The ADR212E is member of Ashida Numerical Relay family (Aditya Series)
design to meet demand of low and medium switchgear control. The ADR212E is
basically 1 phase neutral voltage protection with IDMT & Definite time. The
ADR212E continuously monitors the phase voltage, through PT connections.
The high-speed micro-controller samples this voltage sine wave through a 12 bit
A/D converter. The micro-controller performs powerful Digital Algorithms to
find out Amplitude of voltage signal, and then this value is use for protection and
metering function. All measurement is tuned to fundamental frequency and
reject all higher harmonics present in electric supply. Each phase voltage is
also displayed on 16 x 2 LCD display for metering. The Relay is having main
three functions 1) Protection 2) Self-Supervision 3) Measurement.

3. FAULT ‘FAULT’ Indicator LED (HR) Type.
4. TRIP Relay ‘TRIP’ Indicator LED (SR) Type. Output element status
indicator of Trip coil or Spare coil.
5. MODE Push Button for MODE. To select setting parameter while setting
and to SAVE setting
6. INR Push Button to view the set parameters. &
To ‘Increment’ the value when the relay is in setting condition.
7. DEC Push button to ‘Decrement’ the value when the relay is in setting
condition.
8. TEST Push Button for online TESTING.
9. BYPASS Push Button for BYPASSING TRIP command.
10. RESET Push Button for HARDWARE RESET of the relay.
11. RS 232 Communication Port D type - 9 pin Connector (male).
12. LCD Display To observe setting and parameters of the relay
Push Buttons
The function of relay is controlled by the push buttons, MODE, INR, DEC, TEST, BYPASS
and RESET which are provided on the front Plate. The relay has a front cover to keep it dust
free.
At the time of setting if changes are not carried within 100s then the display will
refresh itself showing line voltages.

What is displayed is as follows
Relay Name – Ashida Numerical Neutral Displacement Relay.
Relay Type – ADR 212E Software Revision V2.00
Relay Display – Pickup Voltage, Curve & Time Multiple Setting.
The relay is capable of protection as well as metering function. After power ‘ON’
the relay will start showing actual Neutral Voltage flowing though PT.
In ASHIDA we believe in continuous improvement of our products. Also
implementing the valuable suggestions and feedback from actual user.
Whenever any relay firmware modification is done it is recorded as version
change. The relay has the facility to upgrade firmware at site, so that customer
can be benefited with latest modification.

Now when the ‘MODE’ push button is pressed the following message is
displayed.

11.1 Password :-
The INR push button is used to increment and the DEC push button is used to
decrement the value. By using this push buttons set the Password to match the
previously set password.
If any of the push button is press for more than 4 sec. the selected value will start
incrementing or decrementing with high speed. If INR push button remains
pressed then display value will roll between min. & max. The min. is 0 and max.
is 99. If DEC push button remains pressed then display value will roll between
max. & min. The max. is 99 and min. is 0.
For example if required value to be set is 25 then press INR push button till you
get reading 20, then releases the INR push button key and increment one by
one.
If the entered password matches with previously set password then we are able
enter to the other settings parameters. If not the following Error message is
shown on the display

11.3 Unit ID : -
By using the INR push button or the DEC push button the desired Unit
addresses can be selected. The unit addresses will vary from 00 to 255, which
means total 254 devises can be connected to single computer. The 255 address
is reserved for special command.
These settings are required to communicate with the SCADA computer.
Then when the MODE’ push button is pressed again the following message will
be displayed.
T r i p T est = 0 0 1
0 1 = Y es 0 2 = No
Explanation:
Neu. V = Neutral Voltage Value
Now when the INR push button is pressed then following message is displayed.
F a u lt 1 T C : 03 4
N e u . V = 0 0 0. 0 V
Explanation:
Fault 1 = Neutral Voltage Value
TC = Trip counter
Neu. V = Voltage at time of Fault
Now if the INR push button is pressed then following message is displayed.
F a u lt 2 T C : 03 5
N e u . V = 0 0 0. 0 V
The Display now shows the Second Fault
Now if the INR push button is pressed then following message is displayed.
F a u lt 3 T C : 03 6
N e u . V = 0 0 0. 0 V
The Display now shows the Third Fault
Now if the INR push button is pressed then following message is displayed.
