GIRL SCOUT WAY

The founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low, was born on October 31, 1860
in Savannah, Georgia. We are going to learn about our founder today, learn
some Girl Scout traditions, share sisterhood through the Girl Scout Law, and
leave a place better than when we found it.
1. Watch this video on Juliette Gordon Low

2. Complete paper activities on Juliette Gordon Low

3. Play the Juliette Gordon Low game (items on table)

 Read description and show each item

 THEN – cover up/take away all items and have the girls try to remember
each one. Give them 5 minutes to write them down and then go over
the list

4. Sing songs from Girl Scout Songbook – play songs from mom’s phone
 On My Honor (pg. 39)
 G for Generosity (middle & 1 page back)
 Juliette (middle and 1 page forward)
 Ignite (middle)

5. Talk about some Girl Scout traditions

 Read from the 5 page packet & discuss

6. LEAVE A PLACE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT!

 We don’t go camping – so we have to leave Ms. Ianne’s classroom
better than we found it! Start straightening up!
 You should also try to clean up any garbage you find at any parks,
playground, or other public places you go to!
