OVERALL COHERENCE AND LOGIC
Does the essay relate to all parts of the prompt? Address all parts of the prompt? Does it discuss two of the provided options and make a choice between them? Does the essay have an introduction? Does the introduction introduce the general topic from the prompt? Does the introduction have an introductory phrase (in recent years...)? Does the introduction establish the structure of your essay (thesis statement)? Does body paragraph 1 start with an introductory phrase/signposting language? Does body paragraph 1 have a topic sentence? Does the topic sentence relate directly to the prompt? Does body paragraph 1 have evidence/examples to support the topic sentence? Does body paragraph 1 give your opinion of this particular topic (related to the topic sentence)? Does body paragraph 2 start with an introductory phrase or signposting language? Does body paragraph 2 have a topic sentence? Does the topic sentence relate directly to the prompt? Does body paragraph 2 have evidence/examples to support the topic sentence? Does body paragraph 2 give your opinion of this particular topic (related to the topic sentence)?
Does the essay have a conclusion?
