Organisational Context
Territory Generation is a Government Owned Corporation that was formed in 2014 as part of the Northern Territory
Government's reforms to the electricity market. We are a Northern Territory Government entity that produces
more than 2000GWh of electricity a year using gas, diesel and solar technologies to power Territory towns and
cities. Our vision is to safely, reliably and efficiently generate electricity to meet the needs of our customers and
to sustainably contribute to the lifestyle and development of the Northern Territory.

Role Responsibilities
The Assets and Engineering team establishes and implements an integrated asset management plan to ensure
reliability, optimum performance and increased efficiency for whole of business assets. It is accountable for the
oversight, commissioning and integration of capital projects; operating and maintenance strategies for assets,
provision of technical expertise and direction on planned shutdown works and oversight of inventory management
and the management of supplier relationships and significant contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety
principles, corporate values and strategies.
2. Provide specialist advice to management on the development and implementation of asset management
strategies and services for allocated power generation assets.
3. Provide specialist professional advice on and manage the development, implementation and ongoing
management of allocated plant assets.
4. Provide specialist engineering and technical advice to operating and maintenance staff in the power stations as
required.
5. Plant failure investigation and root cause analysis
6. Manage critical spare parts for relevant assets.
7. Monitor plant performance and implement actions for better performance and reliable plant operation,
8. Develop and implement asset management plans that include maintenance and operating strategies, plans and
requirements, quality standards and Inventory requirements.
9. Advise on and develop and maintain asset management and shutdown plans in line with best practise to
enable effective asset maintenance.
10. Design, document and implement engineering solutions while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
11. Quality control of works including preparing Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
12. Apply the safety, environmental and quality policy in all project phases
13. Provide professional expertise and support to contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements,
Australian Standards and Territory Generation standards

Selection Criteria

Essential
1) Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively with
different stakeholders and people of diverse cultures
2) Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and deliver outcomes
3) Tertiary qualifications in Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
4) Extensive hands on experiences in Balance of Plant equipment including gas pipework, gas skids, metering,
pressure reduction; liquid fuel system and storage, water treatment plant etc.
5) Extensive experiences in maintenance and compliance of fire system, compressed air system and pressure
vessels
6) Contract Management
7) Excellent analytical and problem solving skills including understanding of root cause analysis and plant failure
investigations
8) Understands asset management system, experiences in whole life cycle planning and preparing budget
9) Experiences in preventative maintenance and spares parts management. Experiences in Computerised
Maintenance Management System
10) Sound knowledge in statutory compliances and relevant Australian and International standards and their
applications
11) Experiences in work place safety and people skills
