I am Proud to be a PHINMA Graduate

Earning a diploma means a milestone in life for me.

In the beginning, I never saw myself attending college. I never saw it is the important
factor it would become in my life. Back when I was in high school my father died because of
lung cancer and with that my mother could not support me in my college expenses because she is
the only one now to work for our daily expenses. But I remember the day when my teacher told
us about PHINMA University of Pangasinan here in Dagupan City. He told us about the
opportunities and scholarship in the said university. After I graduated in high school , I comply
my requirements to inquire in the University of Pangasinan and with , they gave me a Handog
Kaibigan Program which is 50% discount in my tuition fees. I am so much grateful for the
Universities Program because it helps me to be able to attend college. And now, gragraduate
nako.

I am so much thankful for having survived the Core, our exams, essays, and the conflicts
everytime I go to school, I think we should be proud to have made it here in one piece. In all
seriousness, today is a milestone for each of us and our families, and it is to our loved ones that
we owe our deepest thanks. After today, we leave the protection of the College, the community
of our friends, roommates, and teachers/professors, to find and forge new communities of our
own. This diploma means success. This is really the end of my childhood life and the beginning
of my adulthood career .

Graduating from college opens a new platform from which to serve. Without serving,
looking forward is just speculation. Remembering is a look back at what serving has meant. Loss
digs a hole. Gratitude and honor create support to recover our footing. We don’t have to build
walls. We can build bridges. We don’t have to put people down to advance our careers. We can
build others up. We don’t have to put winning above all else. If we are not creating well, no one
wins. We don’t have to impose our self-centered objectives on others. We can collaborate and
rally around a higher purpose in what we pursue. Because building bridges is a serving mindset,
creating is a serving mindset, making others better is a serving mindset, and focusing on a higher
purpose is a serving mindset. This diploma means success. This is really the end of my childhood
life and the beginning of my adulthood career and I am proud to say that I am a PHINMA
graduate.

Thank you and congratulations to all graduates. 
