Tourist Attraction- refers to the center of attention in a tourist destination.

Tourism Product- refers to the total experience of getting to the tourist destination

TOURIST SITE AND SIGHT FEATURES

 Tourist Site- contains one or more tourist attractions, which may be a sight,
event, site’s history, an accommodation facility.

-involves not only by the sense of sight but also other senses- touch, smell, sound
and taste.

 Tourist Sight- refers to only to what the eyes can see-beautiful sceneries.

CRITERIA/S ON HOW TO CHARACTERIZE EXCELLENT TOURIST SITE:

1. Must sell a “signature experience,” authentic and unique which engages


variety of senses and opportunities to experience.
2. Must meet international demand, based on understanding of tourist and
meeting their expectations.
3. Must practice a high standard of international marketing, includes
functional website, social media campaigns, willingness to host familiarization
tours, and links with suppliers and partners.

 Primary Source- refers to information on those with first-hand experience of


information

Examples:

Joining familiarization trips

School field trips


 Secondary Source- refers to reports and publications.

Technical Data- refers specialized information that may be difficult on non-


practitioners.

Triangulation- process of cross-checking with other references to make sure the


information gathered is accurate.
