Re : Closing of facility
As of the end of this fiscal year, the Clarkson distribution facility will permanently cease doing
business. All operations will be relocated to the Silent Springs plant.
Personnel at salary grade 7 and below will not be relocated. If you fall within that category, you
will be paid through June 30, the end of the fiscal year, or, in the case of workers held over to
close down the building, through October 30. No new order will be received after June 30. All
released employees will receive two weeks’ severance pay and time off to seek employment.
All personnel at salary grade 8 and above will remain in place and report to the Silent Springs
facility on November 1. At the time you will receive your future assignments.
All company directors are concerned that this facility must close and people will lose jobs.
However, the recession, which has caused a sharp decline in sales, leaves us no alternative.

construction of a power-cable plant in Istanbul. The $27 million plant is 48% owned by local
