sample of 100 bottles when measured had a mean content of 201.3 ml. Test whether the equipment is functioning properly with the significance of 5%.
4. The QA department of a company wants to check the life of electric bulbs
for bulk purchase of 10000 numbers. They bought 50 numbers of “Philips” & “Eveready” each for the quality check since they are the market leaders. It was found that Philips bulbs gave an average life of 1500 hours with a SD of 60 hours & Eveready gave an average life of 1512 hours with a SD of 80 hours. Is there a significant difference in the mean life of 2 brands at 99% confidence level?
