Lesson: It's so cute!

LESSON OBJECTIVES: by the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

name body parts


extract specific information while listening (skimming)
use the affirmative forms of the verb “have got”
describe a person
describe a cartoon character

COMPETENCIES:

1.1 Identify the global significance of a clearly articulated oral message in a familiar context.

1.3 Understand age appropriate oral messages.

2.2 Participate in everyday conversation about familiar topics.

2.3 Describe people/characters in a simple way.

3.2 Understand the global significance of simple texts about familiar topics.

DIDACTIC STRATEGIES:

a)methods and skills:

conversation, exposition, explanation, individual, pair, group, whole class work, all skills.

b)materials and aids:

the pupil's book, Ss’ notebooks, whiteboard and markers, worksheets, flashcards, CD.
ASSUMPTIONS: Students are already familiar with some words used for this topic.

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: They may be noisy when working in pairs/groups.

SOLUTIONS: Create a pleasant and warm atmosphere, provide explanations when necessary, encourage
them to give answers

Aims:

to introduce new words related to face

T draws an oval on the board and asks students to name the


object. (What is it? Is it a ball? Is it an egg?). The teacher explains
that it is going to be a human face and writes the title of the new
lesson on the board and tells Ss that, due to the fact we are all
different, they will learn to describe people’s appearance.

T draws the face elements – the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and the
hair. T drills the new vocabulary and asks students to decide if it
will be a boy or a girl.

T writes on the board the description of a pupil in class and asks


Ss to guess who that person is. The S who recognise the classmate
can describe another child in class.

T follows the same procedure to describe images of some


characters on the affirmative, focusing the Ss’ attention on the
third person singular form of the verb “have got”.

Then, T asks Ss to follow the procedure and describe the other


characters.

T gives Ss handouts (Find someone who..) with description of the


characters Ss are asked to find the correspondance between the
description and the images and report back to the class.
