Desiderata

Desiderata means things that are desired maybe the author felt that
people can't get the things they desired. It is a short poem written by Max
Ehrmann. The poem is about every people on how they should treat themselves
properly, from wrong to right. It is also serves as motivation to know yourself
more than you already know. It helps us to develop and shape the life of a
person. The poem is full of lessons were everyone can improve their way of
living.

Stanza No. 1: Being calm doesn't mean that you are weak, sometimes you just
want to have peace on your mind. This world is full of conflicts were people
tends to have conquer but even people hitting and fighting you behind your
back. Just be patient and be good to them 'till they realize that all you want is
peace.

Stanza No. 2: Speak directly, clearly, and truthfulness so the other people will
not be misinterpret things because your interpretation of your words are
different from their interpretation. Not all people think the way you do, maybe
others is lack of knowledge, everyone has their own story, they have their own
life to rule. Learn to listen about their struggles in life, don't judge the book by
it's cover -- don't judge them when you didn't know their true story in life.

Stanza No. 3: Avoid over thinking and become aggressive person which can
harm yourself, eliminate bad spirits in your body so you can prevent
unpredictable feelings like bitterness and boast to reduce situation where you
started to compare yourself to the other person, you will start to feel
insecurities. Accept who you are and who they are.

Stanza No. 4: Our career is very essential part in our life to have a better
future. To have a good career, we must follow every rules and guidelines to
achieve our goals. We should make our achievements as our motivation to our
career. Better future change our life but not our attitude, our attitude will
remains good when we have self-discipline.

Stanza No. 5: Sometimes our career will falls and go down even our career
have a bright history. Many problems can attack our career but don't let
problems broke our beloved business. Find a way to save and rise again our
business and make it stronger than before. We must learn from our mistakes
because nothing is permanent, but change. We need to be brave when facing
our problems, do not quit and surrender because everything will going to be
alright when we believe in ourselves.

Stanza No. 6: We must know ourselves more and try to embrace ourselves for
who we are. Avoid fake love because it can hurt our feelings. Love takes time
because time is not limitless. Take time on picking the best one for you. Love is
like a grass that grows on it's own.

Stanza No. 7: We have our past experiences and memories. As we get older,
we learned more knowledge. It gives us new information and knowledge to
something we don't know where we figure out what is right and what is wrong
because when we're on the stage of teenager, we will become matured enough.
Stanza No. 8: No matter what happens, just stay and think positive, don't let
fear ruined you. Do not be distressed to the thoughts around your mind that
can result loneliness and fatigue. The poem wants us to love ourselves and
know the ethics we must act. Let your soul strengthen your mind and body.

Stanza No. 9: Discipline yourself and act based on the situation of the world
have. Love yourself first so you will succeed to love other people. Loving
yourself will teach you to respect. We are all living in the same world. The
reason of our existence have own use in life.

Stanza No. 10: Let God be the center of your life even we have different
perspective in life. We still believe that God is still in our side to guide us with
all that sham, drudgery, and broken dreams. We still have a wonderful world,
look for the good aspects in life.

The poem is all about positivity and encouragement of the writer to all
of the people. The writer inspire the reader to have positive mind set even on
the toughest problem comes in our life. To be specific, the problems that we
need to fight are problem about career, love, business, and loneliness but in
general, our all problems that were harsh situation. The poet tries to change
the way people look at failures and challenges that we're all encountered. We're
all from creation of God and every people should follow the rules even the rules
are not in the law or in the ten commandments of God. Be good to yourself and
to others, do what is right.
