Publicly Traded Stock Exchange: Tesla is a publicly traded company, which makes its stock
Mission: Tesla Inc.'s Mission Statement. Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to
sustainable energy. Climate change is reaching alarming levels – in large part due to emissions
from burning fossil fuels for transportation and electricity generation. In 2016, carbon dioxide
(CO2) concentration levels permanently exceeded the 400 parts per million threshold, a level that
many climate scientists believe will have a catastrophic impact on the environment. Worse,
global CO2 emissions are increasing at an accelerating rate. Annual CO2 emissions have
approximately doubled over the past 50 years to over 35 gigatons per year. The path that the

in the transportation and power sectors. This issue is Tesla’s entire reason for existing. We are
focused on creating a complete power and transportation ecosystem from solar generation and
energy storage to all-electric vehicles. The first step in our Master Plan was to build an all-
electric sports car (the Tesla Roadster) to prove that people didn’t need to compromise
performance, speed or comfort to drive all-electric. From there, we designed the world’s first-
ever premium all-electric sedan from the ground up, Model S, our Model X SUV, and an

affordable vehicle for the mass market, Model 3. As part of Master Plan, Part Deux, we
introduced Tesla Semi, an all-electric truck that delivers massive savings in energy costs,
I have a new idea for Tesla Car Company. This would be a product that is either installed
into or attached onto Tesla vehicles. The product would be a ‘Front, Break Light Indicator’. As it
stands, most Americans are accustomed to seeing a break light indicator in the back of the car.
But a front break light indicator is just as important in regard to warning ‘on-coming-traffic’ of
your intention to stop. There are many times when Americans are out driving, and they are
sitting at an intersection trying to gauge the speed of on-coming traffic and trying to execute a
left-handed turn all at the same time! Wouldn’t it be great it we could prevent a “T-bone” car
accident by determining if the coming car is going to stop? Imagine the peace of mind that
pedestrians will have when they see your break light indicating that you’re going to stop for their
The competitive advantage that this product offers is simplified safety. This product
offers a simple solution to an everyday problem that has taken the lives of many Americans. The
primary challenge that I feel my product would face is finding sales distributors. There are
several hundred million different vehicles in the world, and once the front – break light indicator
is incorporated into these vehicles, the roads will be much safer. Almost 40% of the accidental

deaths in the United States are from motor vehicles, and this product could reduce that number
(Taylor, 2018).
