Introduction

This is the annual scientific meeting organized by the Indonesian Orthopaedic and
Traumatology Association (IOA) which will feature scientific sessions as well as a
dedicated continuing orthopaedic education for the organization. This year’s event is
planned to take place in Surakarta, the city of Central Java, and also a popular
tourism in the region. It is scheduled to take place on 24 – 27 April 2019 at the
Alila Hotel, Surakarta, and will be hosted by the Central Java Chapter of IOA.
The theme of this year’s event will be “All About Sport Injury in Musculoskeletal
System: Holistic Approach and Current Treatment”
This event will be open for registration by Orthopaedic Surgeons, Residents and
Trainees in Orthopaedics, General Practitioners as well as specialists from other areas
of expertise. Attendees can expect to find a full range of lectures and discussions
organized into a full clinical symposium that can cater to their need for scientific
updates and knowledge. This will be supported by workshop sessions that will
feature dry labs as well as a wet lab, and live surgey. To make the scientific session
worthwhile, we will feature a host of Leaders and Experts from all over Indonesia,
along with Regional and International faculties.

On behalf of the Indonesian Orthopaedic Association, It is my great pleasure to

welcome you to attend the 67th Continuing Orthopaedic Education (COE)
Indonesian Orthopaedic Association to be held on April 24 – 27th, 2019 in Alila
Hotel, Surakarta.

The theme of this annual scientific meeting is “All About Sport Injury in
Musculoskeletal System: Holistic Approach and Current Treatment” which is
quite appropriate for us to absorb and exchange our knowledge, especially
where most of us are still taking care of Sport Injury patients. There will be
numerous Lectures, Symposium, Workshops, Case Discussion and with outstanding
international speakers as well as national speakers.

This time the conference is being held in a beautiful location Surakarta, and as we
know Surakarta is the city of Central Java Province. Surakarta is a great place to visit
any time of the year as it's not only renowned for its culture as a spirit of Java, but the
town also offers many attractions and cullinaries well worth a visit. We believe that
with the support of the Pharmacy Company and also Medical Equipment Company,
this event will run smoothly and fruitfully. We would like to express our gratitude

Continuing Orthopaedic Education (COE) of Indonesian Orthopaedic Association
to be held on April 24 – 27th, 2019 in Alila Hotel, Surakarta

The theme of this event is “All About Sport Injury in Musculoskeletal System
Holistic Approach and Current Treatment”. A comprehensive array of sessions have
been prepared, of which will hopefully enable us to run a proper Orthopaedic
Services in Indonesia. The meeting will also organize Plenary Lecture, Resident Day
Lecture and several workshops to finalize the fulfillment. Prominent Orthopaedic
Surgeon from Indonesia, South East Asia, Asia Pacific and beyond Asia have been
invited to present their lecture.

I truly hope that all of the participants will share the experiences and obtain ample
chances to exchange ideas about topics of current concern. I also warmly welcome
you to participate in the 67th Continuing Othopaedic Education of Indonesian
Orthopaedic Association to be a part in determining of our future.

Surakarta is a city in Central Java province, nicknamed Spirit of Java resemblance to

the center of Javanese culture and people. This is a famous city for Javanese culture
and cullinaries well worth a visit.

Call For Paper

The COE 67 committee is pleased to announce the call for paper submission. This
competition is great opportunities to allow you greater participation in COE 67 meeting. IOA
member, residents – trainees, general practitioners or any related professionals are welcome
to submit and encourage to participate in scientific paper submission to disseminate your
research to public. There will be two categories:

1. Final Paper exclusive for Indonesian Candidate of Orthopedic Board Examination

2. Free paper for oral or poster presentation, open for any relevant professional

1. FINAL PAPER
The Final Paper Presentation is designed for the local candidate of orthopedic board
examination. The oral presentation is 8 minutes, then followed with 4 minutes discussion, for
each participants discussion is chaired by the jury.
Final paper will be reviewed and scored by jury of College of Indonesia Orthopaedic and
traumatology according to BUKU PANDUAN PENULISAN, PRESENTASI, dan
PENILAIAN NASKAH ILMIAH AKHIR. Juries will select three winners.

1. Submit your printed paper according term and condition of Indonesian Orthopaedic
Collegium.
2. Submit your abstract in word format (.doc or .docx filetype) to Mrs. Sri Mulyati

(Orthopaedic FK UI Secretariat) at srimulyati_ati@yahoo.com with subject format:

3. The deadline of both abstract and printed paper submission for Final Paper is on
February 28th, 2019 

4. The jury will select three winners 

5. Please prepare your presentation in English and submit it (.ppt or .pptx file type) to

 2. FREE PAPER for Oral or Poster Presentation
Any original research, reviews, or case presentation are welcome in this section (please refer
to our format below). The oral presentation will be conducted for 8 minutes, one session is
consisted for 4 to 5 participants, followed by 2 minutes discussion. The discussion is chaired
by the moderator. The poster presentation will be conducted for 5, followed by 2 minutes
discussion. The poster will be displayed in multimedia screen.

Term and Conditions:

1. It is allowed for submit more than 1 manuscript, even in different category. 

2. Please submit your abstract(s) in online registration form (https://bit.ly/coe67ska).
The upload field has been provided. 

3. Please choose your preference (Oral or Poster presentation) in the form. 

4. Upon juries consideration, your abstract(s) may be switch to other category (oral to
poster, or vice versa)
