ACTIVITY: THUMBS UP!

 Let the students reflect on the motive question: “How does a natural disaster or
natural hazard will affect the lives of many people?”
 Have the students watch a short video clip about “Natural Hazards on Humans.”

ANALYSIS:

Use the activity as the springboard of the lesson:

 Allow the learners to share their feelings or insights after watching the short video
clip.
 Ask them to write keywords or phrases that show their evaluation of the accuracy
and effectiveness of the video that they’ve watched.

ABSTRACTION: ANSABE??
 Have the students perform or play an activity/game entitled “ANSABE?” to reveal
the unfamiliar words found in the text.
 MECHANICS: The teacher will flash the definition of the word on the screen while
the chosen student is uttering the word that corresponds to its definition. The twist
will be goes like this; the students will say the word without the use of his/her voice
while the rest of the class is trying to guess the word.

APPLICATION:
 Have the students construct their sentences using the unfamiliar words presented.
Allow them to do it orally.
