Introduction
Interior partitions help you to organize the space and even arrange the
area according to your needs. Your desire to have a comfortable, modern
and suitable partition will be satisfied with a huge selection of materials for
their production
History
The History of portable room dividers dates back many
centuries. Folding room dividers first originated in China around the 4th
century BC. These early Chinese folding screens functioned both as a
furnishing as well as a decoration. They were heavy, ornate works of art,
which made them expensive. Their size and weight made these room
dividers difficult to move and often remained in place.
Improved room dividers. There were many variations of the
Japanese folding screen.. The Shoji was created to be a more portable
divider, which used lighter weight translucent paper for panel material, thus
making the screens easier to move. The screens are used during tea
ceremonies (small two-fold screens), public performances, religious events,
and outdoor processions (up to eight folds).
The folding room screens were found in China in the 7th century
where they were mainly used by royalty. They were very heavy and ornate,
and were not moved around. In the 8th century, the Japanese began using
lighter, more portable room dividers for tea ceremonies, religious events
and outdoor processions. European travelers developed their own version
of Asian screen dividers using wood, leather, silk, mirrors and decoupage.
Folding room dividers are History now used in dwellings, hospitals, schools,
restaurants, corporate offices and convention centers.
Material used ;
In general, all the interior partitions are divided into two groups –
assembled and frame-based. The first group includes partitions made of
building materials – bricks, boards, blocks. To the second group we refer
partitions constructed on the frame base, to which the selected material
(plywood, drywall, etc.) is attached.
Drywall:
Drywall was added to the line of materials for decoration and room
construction years ago. Metal frame, to which from both sides are mounted
drywall boards, sound and thermal insulation materials inside – and your
partition is ready in a short period of time. Light and fire resistant, the
partition is perfectly smooth and often doesn't need additional processing.
Yet there are some disadvantages of this material, such as poor moisture
resistance, fragility, inability to hold heavy objects. On the other hand, the
flexibility of the material allows us to produce varied and diverse shapes,
curves and three-dimensional constructions.
To divide rooms, creating a more efficient use of the space within the
room.
As decorators and/or accent pieces to add character to room space.
To hide areas of different usage or privacy protection
To decorate rooms for better home design effect
Room dividers differ in nature being either:
Permanent as in using wine shelves in restaurants
Built in as in sliding partitions in offices
Portable or temporary as for example in convention centers
Fixed room dividers and hanging room dividers
They may completely obscure as in floor to ceiling dividers, or may allow
sight through as for example when plant pots are used to divide areas
Uses:
Houses, and other residences:
Use two different types of room dividers. Commonly, you will see floor-
to-ceiling room dividers in banquet halls and meeting spaces. These fixed
In offices:
Room dividers are typically more permanent in nature and attached directly
to the floor. These office cubicles room dividers allow taking a large
office space and breaking it into quieter and more focused subdivided .
Convention centers:
By their very nature, are large facilities with wide open internal
spaces. Consequently, they often need to be broken down into smaller
areas. The most common room divider used in convention center is pipe
and drape. The convention center sets up frames made of plastic, metal, or
wire tubing. Fabric material is then hung over the frame to create back
drops and hide other unsightly places in addition to creating multiple
subdivided rooms.
Room divider used in Hospital
New sail medical screen solved the last gap with hospital disinfection.
In the past, the screen partition system is difficult to sterilize, the
disinfection cost is high, and the disinfection is not complete. We designed
portable medical screen, using the world's highest standards of germ-board
. Anti - corrosion, anti - stain, easy to clean, and the service life of more
than 10 years.
In terms of privacy, we can do the best. The combination of plate and aviation
aluminum forms absolute shade, no light and no shadow, which guarantees
the privacy of patients to the greatest extent and provides a better medical
environment.
In terms of color, we have more than 100 kinds of colors that can be
produced, with the most complete hue and the widest brightness and
chromaticity, just like the professional color palette of interior designers,
which can meet the characteristic construction of each hospital.
Therefore, we are committed to making new sail medical screen
become the "invisible nurse" of our hospital
2 - Isolate a Space
A room divider can isolate a space and give you more privacy. Having
a portable room divider is ideal if you have a multipurpose room that serves
as a living and a kitchen at the same time or a living and office or a living
and a bedroom.
The room dividers may also be used instead of a changing room.
3 - Can be Moved
When compared to building a divider wall, which are permanent, the
portable room dividers are changeable. Most room dividers are light to
carry around.
If you are unsure how you would like to divide your rooms, you can use the
portable dividers and move them as you please. You can try several
positions for the dividers, even several times per day, depending on your
activities. You may even place the dividers in a closet when you don’t need
them.
4 - Cost Effective
When it comes to breaking up a room, you will need to perform ample
construction work or hire a contractor to do the work for you. However, if
you opt for room dividers, you can solve the problem with less money and
in less time.
In addition, if you change your mind about the purpose of the space, you
can easily move the dividers, instead of pulling down walls and doing
additional construction work.
You may also replace the room dividers in case you change your room
décor without having to break the bank.
5 - No Expertise Required
If you want to divide your room and you would like to build a wall, you
require some skills, materials and possibly some approvals and paperwork.
However, if you opt for room dividers, you will not need to build anything,
just figure out where you should place the dividers.
Some room dividers may be painted at home, so that they will have a
unique look. In addition, you can decorate the dividers on each side, so that
the side facing each space will go well with the living/office/bedroom.
7 - Trouble-Free Maintenance
The maintenance of the portable room dividers will depend on the type
of materials these separators are made from. Typically, dividers will be
easy to clean.
Most room dividers may be wiped clean with a wet cloth and you can
perform the maintenance when you clean the room.
