WARNING AR routers are class A products. In a domestic environment, these products may cause radio interference
in which case the user may be required to take the adequate measures.
CAUTION During installation and maintenance, take ESD protection measures, for example, wear ESD gloves or an ESD
wrist strap.
During router transport, movement, and installation, prevent the router from colliding with objects like doors,
walls, or shelves.
This product is used in restricted scenarios and must be operated by trained personnel.
Do not place other objects on the router.
4 Site Environment
Do not place this product in an environment with flammable or explosive gases, or smoke.
The installation site must be free from leaking or dripping water or heavy dew. If the relative humidity is high,
use dehumidifiers or air conditioners with dehumidification features.
The installation site must be well ventilated, and the air vents of the router must not be blocked.
Do not place the router in a dusty environment.
100mm
Leave more than 100 mm clearance at two sides and rear of the router for heat dissipation.
1 Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw on the SIM card cover, and remove the SIM card
cover from the router. Keep the SIM card cover in an appropriate place for later use.
2 Push the SIM card holder toward the OPEN direction and turn it upward. Place the SIM card into
the SIM card slot, close the SIM card holder, and push the SIM card holder toward the LOCK
direction. When you hear a click, the SIM card holder is locked.
CAUTION When inserting a SIM card, keep the notch on the SIM card in the same direction as the notch marked on the slot.
2
3 Install the SIM card cover back to the router and tighten 1 2 3
the screw to fix the cover.
1 Attach four rubber pads in the imprinted round areas marked plus (+) signs at the bottom of the router.
NOTE For an AR502CG-L, skip this step because it does not need rubber pads.
3
Scenario 2: Mounting the Router on a Wall
CAUTION Before drilling holes on a wall, make sure there are no power cables in the wall to avoid electric shock.
Take water-proofing measures to protect a wall-mounted router from damages caused by water.
Screws must be installed solid in the wall; otherwise, the wall-mounted router may fall down after cables are
connected.
Ensure that there are no flammable or explosive materials near the router and no obstructions within 100 mm
around the router.
1 Use a measuring tape to determine the two mounting bracket installation positions. Keep the two
positions on a horizontal line and mark the positions with a marker.
74mm
2 Use a Phillips screwdriver to fix the mounting bracket on the rear of the router with four countersunk
M3x6 screws.
4
Scenario 3: Mounting the Router on a DIN Rail
NOTE The DIN mounting kit is optional and needs to be purchased separately if needed.
For an AR502CG-L router, skip step 1 because the DIN mounting kit has been installed on the router before
delivery.
1 Mount the DIN mounting kit onto the rear panel of the router with M3 screws, and then use a Phillips
screwdriver to tighten the M3 screws.
2 Place the rear panel of the router in front of the DIN rail and ensure that the DIN rail fits in between the
fixture near the top of the DIN mounting kit and the spring latch near the bottom.
3 Make the router incline forward with the bottom away from the DIN rail, and place the fixture at the rear of
the DIN mounting kit on the top of the DIN rail.
4 Slowly push the router toward the DIN rail to make the spring latch near the bottom of the DIN mounting
kit move down. The spring latch then bounces back to fix the router on the DIN rail.
NOTE If the spring latch is too tight to move down, you can pull down the spring latch during the installation.

WARNING To avoid electric shock, do not connect power cables while the power is on.
When putting the cover back to the IP65 enclosure assembly box, ensure that the O-ring is flat and there is no
large gap after screws are installed. In addition, take water-proofing measures to ensure the sealing performance,
CAUTION protecting the router from damages caused by water.
Screws must be installed solid in the wall; otherwise, the router may fall down after cables are connected.
Ensure that there are no flammable or explosive materials near the router and no obstructions within 100 mm
around the router.
To insert a USB flash drive in or remove it from a USB interface on the box bottom, ensure that the power is off.
Do not touch the USB flash drive when it is in use.
This product is applicable to level II overvoltage scenarios. If you want to apply it to a scenario where overvoltage
is higher than level Ⅱ, connect an effective voltage drop device to the circuit breaker. Otherwise, you may face
risks of electric shocks.
5
NOTE AR502EG-L-PD does not involve installation inside the enclosure assembly box. The procedures for
wall-mounted and pole-mounted installation are similar to those for the IP65 enclosure assembly
box. The following describes the installation procedures for the IP65 enclosure assembly box.
Procedure
1 Put the IP65 enclosure assembly box upside down on a table and loosen screws using the Phillips
screwdriver.
1 2
2 Rotate the PG connector of the IP65 enclosure assembly box anticlockwise to remove it using the torque
wrench and remove the box cover.
3 Use the Phillips screwdriver and four M3x7 bolts to install the router (with the side where the SIM card is
installed facing up) in the IP65 enclosure assembly box.
4 Connect the ZigBee antenna, USB cable, power cable, and two LTE antennas in the IP65 enclosure
assembly box to the router.
3 4
5 Pull the power cable out from the PG interface of the IP65 enclosure assembly box.
6 Use the Phillips torque screwdriver to tighten the screws with a torque of 1.3 N·m to put the cover back to
the IP65 enclosure assembly box.

8 Logging In to the Router
1 Use a RS232 cable to connect a PC to the RS232 interface of the router.
NOTE
If your PC's operating system provides terminal simulation software (like HyperTerminal in Windows 2000), you do
not need to install additional terminal simulation software. If the PC runs on an operating system without terminal
simulation software (like Windows 7), install third-party terminal simulation software on the PC by referring to user
manual or online help.
A PC may have more than one serial port. Select the port to which the RS232 cable is connected. Generally, COM1 is
used. If you modify the serial port communication parameters on the router, modify the communication parameters
on the PC to ensure that they use the same communication parameters, and then set up the connection again.
2 Start the terminal simulation software, create a connection, specify the connected port, and set
communication parameters as follows:
Bits per second (B): 9600 Stop bits (S): 1
Data bits (D): 8 Flow control (F): None
Parity (P): None
