REASEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the methods and procedure to be used in gathering the
data needed in the study. This includes research design, subject of the study, data
Research Design
2017) using descriptive-survey design. The researchers used this design for their
status of the phenomena to describe “what exist” with respect to variables conditions
in a situation. The methods involved range from the survey which describe the status
quo, the correlation study which investigates the relationship between variables, to
developmental studies which seek to determine changes over time (Key, 2001).

based method.

of) two hundred-ten (210) students graduated from 2015-2017. However, only one
hundred thirty-seven (137) of the respondent were traced. The survey was
conducted via online survey either through email or Facebook, and establishment
For the primary data, the researchers used a standardized questionnaire from
the CHED through electronic and face-to-face data gathering. The questionnaire has
two pages and each part was composed of question relevant to the researchers’
information needed. Respondents were asked to place a check mark on answers that
represent their choice and others were simply asked to write the information asked.
First part of questionnaire asked for the demographic profile of the respondents such
as their name, sex, age, civil status, city address, provincial address, email address,
The second part of the questionnaire consist of questions that asked the
possessed and their reasons why them pursued the said studies.
The third part of the questionnaire was designed for determining the
employment data of the graduates. This includes the questions that asked the
first job, number of jobs taken after graduation, employment status, present position,
type of company, length of service of the present job and nature of work.
They spent a lot of time, effort and money just to trace the respondents and sought
for answers from them. The researchers used adapted questionnaire from CHED
through electronic data gathering. No validation was needed and thus not require
assistance of the Alumni Association to conduct the survey through a formal letter
of request. After being granted with the permission, the researchers then distributed
the questionnaire to the chosen respondent. The respondents were assigned with
As stated in the letter of request, the names of graduates, year they graduated,
email address and their contact numbers were gathered but remained confidential.
The questionnaire was delivered through their emails and other information were

acquired personally. After the retrieval of the questionnaire, the researchers covered
all the necessary information and organized the responses to each questionnaire.
The data gathered were tabulated, summarized and tallied for further analysis. All
entries were double checked to ensure the accuracy and the reliability of the results.
The materials and references necessary for this research were obtained from the
internet, Batangas State University Library, and other related sources. The data
Statistical Treatment
This study used the following statistical tools that are considered appropriate
respondents in terms of age, sex and civil status; the educational profile of the
pursuing advance studies and the employment data of the respondents in terms of
first job, number of job taken after graduation, employment status, present position,
type of company, length of service on the present job and nature of work.
