The SEG4LOCKquickopeningclosureprovidesfast and easy

access to horizontaland vertical pressure vessels like filter
separators,pig Launchers/ Traps, Standard,autoclavesetc.
One oersonwith standardwrenchescan open and close the
largestSEG4LOCKclosurethe SEG4LOCKclosurederivesits
namefrom a 4 piecesegmentedringfittedin a groovebetween
the door and the closureneckto transmitloadsuniformlyto the
full 360' circumferenceof the neck. The design is inherently
safe sincethe door cannotbe physicallyopenedunlessand
untilthe vessel'sinternalpressurehas beenfully relieved.The
reasonfor this is that the internalpressureacting on the door
providesthe sealingpressureof the trapezoidalgasketon the
segmentring. This force goes on improvingwith increasing
internalpressure.Our experienceis that an internalpressureas
low 0.5 bar can provideenough sealingforce for a gas tight
connection. At this pressure the force acting below the
segmentedring is so largethat it is physicallyimpossibleto
forceout the segmentringfrom groove throughthe 10.0mm dia
knock out holes . The holdingcover providesan additional
protectionby way of a safetyoverlapagainstthe inner bore of
the segment ring to ensure that the segment ring cannot be
removedunlessthe holdingcoveris firstremoved.The holding
cover is providedwith a locking arrangementwhich can be
unlockedonlyby authorised personnel.Thetrapezoidal sealing
gasket has a large sealing surface and is located in an
enclosurebetweenthe closureneck , the door and the segment
ring which is designedto preventextrusionor blow - out. The
trapezoidalgasketof Neoprene/Vitonis manufacturedto close
tolerances/ hardnessrange in custom made dies to prevent
duplication.The closureneckat the weldingend is extralongto
ensurethatheatinputsduringweldingdo notdistortthe sealing
facesofthe closure"
TheSEG4LOCK closureis inherentlysafeandsatisfies all ASMEcoderequirements

disassembled.
