I. General Provisions:
2. The league commissioner/s shall serve as the policy making body of the “Corporate
Basketball League, (CBL), “ The Corpo League”, who shall review and implement
the rules and regulations at all times, as well as having the right to amend or supersede
portions of the league rules and regulations accordingly.
III. Health and Safety Provisions, Safety / Emergency Preparedness and Security
Control
1. Clearance / Fit to Play Permit are required to all players and officials before they can
participate in the event. “No clearance and/or permit, no participation”
2. All participating teams are required to have chief marshals, medical representative,
ERT/Certified First Aider from their submitted line up either players and/or team
officials.
3. There will be a standby crowd control, medical practitioner/first aider and equipment
on site (if played in common location). If games are played from a home/away
format, home teams are required on these provisions during the entire game.
4. Waivers must fully be understood, signed, and submitted to the event organizer
before the opening games on Nov 10 or 17, 2019. “No waiver, No participation”
Side Events: All participating teams are eligible to represent their organization on a
pocket tournament affiliated from the organizers, for the Street Ball Challenge.
Season rankings will merit as the seeding and matching for the pocket tournament
will be determined.
Medals & Freebies await the winners plus the bragging rights on
“Hari ng Street Ball”.
All Star Game – Featuring the ELITE “CORPO” players from all participating
teams.
CHARITY EVENT – During the All-Star break, part of the advocacy of the league
is to reach out and share whatever we can for the chosen charitable group or
schools especially within the Christmas season.
V. Game Schedules
a. Sundays during Elimination: There will be a (4) games schedule so every teams
can play. Each team cooperation and timely attendance is entirely needed.
Defaulting time will be implemented.
b. Playoffs Dates: TTH; Semis and Finals: MWF.
c. League will run from Nov 10 or 17 to Dec 27-30, 2019 and/or until Jan 2020.
VI. Venue Options (still subject for change upon notice and availability)
1. Maximum of (15) players only can be listed from the official team roster. ALL
(15) players must be fielded during the game. Free (15) sets of uniforms are
allotted to all participating teams. Rule exemptions shall be allowed for at least
(2) executive sponsors from the team; they can participate and be added to the
list.
2. Official team uniforms must be worn during the game proper. No placing of tape
or any form of adhesive to change the name and/or number.
3. Membership and Participation Fee must fully be settled on or before the deadline
set by the event organizer. “No fees, no participation” policy is in place.
4. No new players can be added to the roster once the tournament begins.
5. All participating players listed on the official team roster must meet the criteria in
eligibility in order to participate in the league.
1. Any form of fights and/or unruly behavior shall not be tolerated. Officials and
event organizers will be given full discretion to give appropriate penalties and
downgrade fines and/or penalties.
2. Player and coaches violations are as follows:
1. Teams must have at least five (5) players before game starts. Allotment of (10)
minutes defaulting time will be strictly implemented. After the grace period of (10)
minutes and the team still do not complete the five (5) players, the opposing team
will officially be declared winners via default.
2. The winning team via default may use the court hours for practice game. Rates will
apply for referee services.
3. Defaulting fee is set at PH 1,000.00 per default game.
4. A 2nd default incurred will result to the team being banned from joining the Corpo
League.
5. The statistical points that the winning team will receive from this default will be based
on their averages per game pre or post defaulting time, plus an additional 10
statistical points for the game won. The defaulting team will receive 0 statistical
points.
6. In case of a team walk-out, the team will be assessed a loss by forfeiture. No game
stats of the team will be considered. Members of the team who were present at the
game will be all suspended (1) game and each member will be assessed a fine of
P100.00. Failure to comply will ban the team in joining the Corpo League event in
the future.
1. No games will be cancelled under any circumstance aside from extreme weather
condition and upon the formal announcement from the commissioner/organizer.
3. 1st to 3rd quarters shall be on a running time basis, while 4th Quarter shall be on
regular on/off basis.
4. Should a game start later than the scheduled time, the game will be played on
running time until 4th quarter. It will be played according to Art. 49.2 From the official
FIBA rules. The timer, however, may decide to shorten the warm-ups of both teams, as
well as dead ball situations to ensure the game be played according to Art. 49.2.
5. Two (2) time-outs will be given to each team in the 1st half, and three (3) time-outs
will be given in the 2nd half. Unused time-outs will not be carried over to the 2nd half.
6. Shot clock/game clock technicalities will be assessed by the table officials in case of
buzzer-beaters, shot clock violations, or other relevant technical issues. No games will
have results overturned because of these technicalities. Players will determine the
outcome.
7. Official protests regarding a player and/or team’s eligibility must be done formally. It
will only be entertained upon a written letter (hard copy) or e-mail duly signed by the
Team Governor/Coach address to the Commissioner/Organizer.
a. In addition, the protesting team shall deposit a P500.00 as security. If the decision of
the commissioner/organizer is in favor of the protesting fee, the deposit will be refunded.
b. Should the protesting team not be in agreement with the decision of the technical
committee, they must submit an official appeal with the same procedure as the initial
protest, in which they shall pay additional deposit of P500.00 as security. If the decision
of the commissioner/technical committee is in favor of the appeal, the sum of P1,
000.00 (protesting fee and appeal) will be refunded.
c. Should the decision be in favor of the protest, the forfeiting/penalized team may
submit a final appeal, which must be in written format through hard copy or e-mail, plus
a deposit of P500.00. If the commissioner/technical committee is in favor of the appeal,
the sum of P500.00 will be refunded.
9. In the event of protests (eligibility, uniform, etc.) or appeals, CBL, The Corpo League
has the right to conduct a thorough investigation regarding the matter, and will have
their verdict. Once this has been declared, it is considered final and irreversible.
10. Refundable amounts will be returned through Team Governor/Coach during the next
possible game schedule.
11. Win over the other rule will apply for two (2) teams with identical records.
12. Win over the other rule will apply for three (3) or more teams with identical records,
if one team wins all its elimination round games against the teams it is tied with.
13. Quotient system will apply for three or more teams, if no team was able to win all its
elimination round games against the teams it is tied with.
(It is the sum of the winning margins minus the losing margins for teams who are tied
against one another or simply, points for less, points against).
14. In cases of default or forfeitures, the winning margin is equal to the average points
per game as of the end of elimination round for the team that wins by default. Losing
margin for the defaulting team will be equivalent to its opponent’s winning margin.
15. If teams still have equal quotients, win over the other will be reapplied to the
remaining teams. If not applicable, the quotient system will be reapplied to said teams.
16. If teams are still tied after the #5 scenario, seeding will be based on the quotient
system against their first common opponent or until the next common opponent where
the tie is broken.
REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
1. Kindly ensure that all information placed below is true and accurate.
2. A team may register and field maximum of (15) players only per season and
per game. With exception of (2) executive employee sponsors which are allowed
to play and listed as participants.
3. Any player who misses all of his elimination games will not be allowed to play in
the Playoffs onwards, even if he is registered.
4. All teams are required to submit the following documents no later than
October 25, 2019.
The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for
permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may
reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF
ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for
my participation; and,
I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If,
however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove
myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY
RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS “CORPORATE BASKETBALL LEAGUE”, “CBL”,” THE CORPO
LEAGUE” their organizers, agents, volunteers and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring
agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the
event (“RELEASEES”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or
damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES
OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY
UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY
SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
