1. Use of safety shoes and safety helmet

1. LEL measurement to be taken, nil Nil observation to be ensured before work.
1. LEL Measurement to be taken after zero level, work shall be started. If LEL level found work to
be stopped .
1. Work to be stopped during stormy weather
 During welding/cutting operations, Proper welding leather gloves and full face UV-Ray
protective shield shall be used to prevent injuries to the operators
 All electrical cables shall be inspected and ensured to be in good working condition prior to use
(should ensure that there is no missing ground pins, no damage cables or frayed wires )
 Before starting welding operation make sure the area is clear from all types of combustible
materials i.e. cotton waste, clothes, gloves etc.
 Provide a fire blanket on site
 Ensure availability of adequate fire Extinguisher at the site.
 Wear proper PPE For welding operation ie., leather gloves, apron, approved goggles and nose
masks.
 Certified equipments only to to be used at site.
 Proper earthing of equipments.

1. Work to be done in one earthpit per grid at a time. Cable route marker available , marking of
earthpit by checking any cable below using cable marker.
1. Continuous supervisor monitoring of the work to be ensured. Work to be stopped if supervisor
is not available. The earth work envisaged is not more than 1 meter from inside of pit . No man
entry inside the pit. For trenches between 5 feet and 20 feet deep, shoring and sheeting,
shielding, sloping and benching have to be ensured as protective measures.

Debris must be kept at lest 3 meter away from the edge of excavation.
