distribution among its consumers in all over India has been

PRODUCTION PROCESS

chocolate, Vanilla and many others along with Fruits, Nuts,
Chocolate Chips etc. are added as per requirement of the
flavour.
This rich flavourful ice cream mix is than frozen in Italian
and German freezers at less than 5 degree Celsius
temperature.
After the basis of ice cream are created, as per the
requirement fruits and nuts are sprinkled over it as toppings.
After this there is a stage where the wonderful and delicious
ripples are made on the ice cream.

Thereafter ice cream is passed through Metal Detector to
make sure no foreign bodies are present in it.
After this it is frozen even further in Hardening Tunnel
at -25 degree Celsius. This hardening process is done in
Automatic Spiral Hardener.
Now it’s time for crucial test Quality Assurance.
Since Havmor is extremely cautious about its product
quality, a group of expert at Havmor laboratory checks
and analyses thoroughly the quality and consistency of
all product which should meet stringent quality standard.
Havmor ice cream is made in pure and hygiene
environment at the world class Havmor Manufacturing
Plant.
From here the Havmor products are delivered to
refrigerated and hygienic vans to more than 20,000
dealers and over 100 exclusive outlets .

PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Havmor boasts a product portfolio comprising 150 kinds of
ice creams retailed through a parlour network operating
across 14 states.
It has two plants, in Ahmedabad and Faridabad,
manufacturing 2.5 lakh litres of ice cream per day.
Havmor has a capacity to store 4 lakh litres of ice cream
In Havmor factory 12,000 candies are made per hour.

PLANT LAYOUT
Layout problems are fundamental to every type of organization
and are experienced in all kind of marketing. Once the decision
about location of a plant has been taken, next important problem
before the management is to plan suitable layout for the plant.
Efficiency and performance of good machines and sturdy
buildings depend to a great extent on the layout of the plant.
According to James Handy, “layout identically involves the
allocation of space and arrangement of equipments in such a
manner that overall operating cost is minimized.”
There are mainly three types of layout:
i. Process Layout

All the materials which are used are thoroughly tested and quality
is checked by the Research and Development Department.
Raw material procurement system is as follows:
Milk is main raw material for ice cream. Milk delivered by
producer is measured, quality tested, analyzed and
accordingly paid.
Sugar is purchased in bulk by the company.
Special attention is given at the time of purchasing nuts,
fruits and chocolates.
Those color and flavor are used which are permitted by
government.

The location of the unit should be suitable so that the
transportation cost is minimized and raw materials can be
easily obtained.
Efficient transportation helps in reduction of cost of
production and earns more profit and above all consumer
satisfaction.
Havmor industry has separate vehicles for transportation.
Refrigerator vans are used to transport the product to
different states and cities.
Cooling vans are used to transport the product locally

Recruitment is done through advertising, recruitment at gate,
employment exchange centre, employment agencies etc.
For the recruitment of skilled workers, advertisement is

SOURCES OF FUNDS
Some sources of finance are short term and must be paid back
within a year. Other sources of finance are long term and can be
paid back over many years.
Internal sources of finance are funds found inside the business.
For example, profits can be kept back to finance expansion.
Alternatively the business can sell assets (items it owns) that are
no longer really needed to free up cash.
External sources of finance are found outside the business. For
example from creditors or banks.

Havmor ice cream limited over the years directly and indirectly is
involved in various philanthropic and social activities.
The company sets out its corporate social responsibility policy
under section 135 of the Companies Act 2013 read with the
Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policies) Rules
2014. The Companies’ CSR Policy is inspired by its motto of
“Goodness, Truthfulness and Cleanliness.”
They at the Havmor are committed to offer the finest quality of
the products to their customers at the best value for money.
Havmor operates in a manner that not just continues to generate
an attractive return for stakeholders, but also trying for
minimizing impact on the environment and helps in replenishing
the plant; while lending a helping hand to the community.
