    provided by the Bhakti (devo t ion) movement of the Nayanars,
    the She iva saints, and th e Alvars, the Vaishnava saints.

    Th e story of Kenneppa Nayanar is told in t he Periya PUranam
    in Tamil. In preparing th is Amar Chitra Katha, material has also
    been drawn from the Kan n ada prose work, Ragale by H arihara .
