DEFINITIONS OF TERMS

To provide a common thing or references between the researchers and the

concern parties of this study. The following term are hereby operationally and

conceptually defined:

Academic Behavior. The definition of academic achievement refers to the level of

schooling you have successfully completed and the ability to attain success in your

studies. When you receive great grades, this is an example of academic achievement.

When you attend college and graduate school, this is an example of academic

achievement

Assessment. The action or an assistance of making a judgement about something

Managing Stress. Stress management is a wide spectrum of techniques and

psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person’s level of stress, especially chronic

stress, usually for the purpose of improving everyday functioning.

Project and activities. Define Activities. Activity, in project management, is defined as

the amount of work performed that converts input to appropriate outputs. Define
activities refer to the process of identifying as well as document

actions that need to be implemented and performed in order to

produce the deliverables of project.

CHAPTER TWO

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Foreign Studies

Qualls (2015) Stress Management are constantly undergoing change through new

demands, changing technology, demographic changes and increased competition. Due

to the increase in workload, psychological problems related to occupational stress have

increased rapidly. There is a growing awareness of how stress adversely affects

organizational efficiency.

Sandmaier (2015) Work related stress has been emerging as one of the main causes

of adverse symptoms of mental health in today’s industrial societies. The direct result of

excessive pressures and/or demands placed on individuals at work, work-related stress

has caused some people to develop symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other

adverse mental health effects. While it might be possible that other co-factors contribute

to the development of anxiety and depression, evidence suggests that pressure from

work is more likely to trigger adverse reactions in some people. In fact, positive

correlations have been established between symptoms of work stress and mental

health problems.

Noe (2016) Stress affects in numerous ways and can result in poor attendance,

excessive use of alcohol or other drugs, poor job performance, or even overall poor
health.  High level of stress results in high levels of employee

dissatisfaction, illness, absenteeism, and turnover, low levels of

productivity and as a consequence difficulty in providing high quality service to

customers .

BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Foreign Literature

Charu (2015) In his study stated that higher stress is directly proportional to quality

work life for IT professionals. He outlined few factors namely fair pay structure, steady

role demands, supervisory support, congenial job environment, capability fit of the job,

role autonomy & stress that directly affect the quality of work life. The main reason of

stress among the associates of IT industrious is the rapid change in technology.

Khan (2015) According to him occupational stress is the same as job stress that need

to be controlled at the workplace otherwise it will affect negatively employee’s work

attitudes & behavior. He conducted a study to investigate the relationship between

Emotional Intelligence as a significant predictor of occupational stress.

Karthik (2016) Employee’s Performance at work is influenced by stress that can be

either positive or negative. The employee’s performs better if they face low to moderate

amount of stress. Hence it aims at reducing the level of stress rather than eliminating

stress completely.
BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Local Studies

Mandale (2017) Stress is an important feature of the lives of college students and can

impact negatively on learning. The effectiveness of an in-class stress management

intervention for improving course content retention was tested with a cross-over design

in two introductory graduate biostatistics classes. Each class met one day per week for

the duration of the semester, and was taught by the same instructor, following the same

syllabus. A pretest duplicating items on the midterm and final exam was administered to

all students at the first class meeting.

Jones (2017) Four studies were conducted to examine both the relation between stress

and medical malpractice and the impact of stress management programs in reducing

malpractice risk. Sixty-seven hospitals and more than 12,000 individuals participated. In

Study 1, hospital departments with a current record of malpractice reported higher

levels of on-the-job stress than did matched, low-risk departments. In Study 2,

workplace stress levels of 61 hospitals correlated significantly with frequency of

malpractice claims. In Study 3, a longitudinal investigation was conducted to evaluate

the impact of an organization-wide stress management program on

the frequency of reported medication errors.

BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Pezaro (2015) There are many theories of work stress and general stress theories. I

have been trying to get my head around just a few, and so I thought I would share them

here for future reference on work stress theory. Perhaps these will help you in your job

and career?… or perhaps help you as a leader or manager to support your employees.

In any case, please share your top workplace tips for working productively…. I would

love to see these theories used to make your workplace a happier one

Local Literature

Martin (2015) Value for money has become an important aspect of local government

management and is one of the factors that have stimulated the spread of performance

measurement systems in local government. Greater expectations of all levels of

government, with increased accountability to stakeholders and requirements for

increased efficiency and effectiveness in government operations, have also increased

the focus on performance measurement

Miranda (2016) There is conflicting evidence regarding the utility of stress management

training in the treatment of diabetes. The few studies that have shown a therapeutic

effect of stress management have used time-intensive individual therapy. Unfortunately,

widespread use of such interventions is not practical. The aim of the present
investigation is to determine whether a cost-effective, group-based

stress management training program can improve glucose

metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes and to determine whether a particular

subset of patients is more likely to get positive results.

BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Chan (2015) most of the studies had methodological problems in that the intervention

duration was short and limited follow-up data was available. This review revealed

positive effects of yoga on stress reduction in healthy adult populations. However, the

result should be interpreted with caution due to the small number of studies and the

associated methodological problems. Further studies to ascertain yoga's long-term

effects and the underlying biological mechanisms leading to its stress reduction effect

should be conducted

METHODOLOGY OF RESEARCH

This chapter is deals with the methods and procedures used in the study which
include the Research Design , Sampling techniques ,Respondents of the study
,Instrument used ,Validation of Instrument , Data Gathering Procedures and Statistical
Treatment of Data.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study made use of descriptive method of research According to Shuttle

worth (2016), descriptive method of research includes all studies purport to present
facts concerning the nature of anything, as the name implies, descriptive research are
used when the researcher are used the researcher wants to describe specific behavior
as it occurs the environment. This study describe how to manage stress management
inside the classroom among grade 12 humanities and social sciences at Bestlink
College of the Philippines

RESPONDENT OF THE STUDY

The respondents of the study were (50) Grade 12 HUMSS Students at Bestlink
College of the Philippines during the academic year 2019-2020.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE

The respondents of the study were 50) Grade 12 HUMSS Students at Bestlink
College of the Philippines during the academic year 2019-2020.
INSTRUMENTS USE

The primary instrument used in the gathering the needed data of

the study is the questionnaire. The questionnaire was adopted;
however, it was modified to the suit of the needs of the study. The questionnaire elicits
vital information regarding the personal profile of the student-respondents and the
casual factors why the students suffer from stress.

1.QUESTIONNAIRE

Self conducted questionnaire the most important instrument used in the study.
This is the tool used by the researcher in collecting significant data from the
respondents.

2.INTERVIEW

This was applying as the second source in gathering data from the respondents. The
Opinion and suggestion of the Filipino subject teachers will help to the researcher to
what they do the field of teaching

ADMINISTRATION AND RETRIEVAL OF QUESTIONNAIRE

The researchers secure that approval of this school Administration to float the
questionnaires before the personally administered the questionnaires. He also solicited
the help of his colleagues, was able to secure hundred percent (100%) retrieval.

VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENTS

The complicated final draft was the pre-tested to some teachers and students
who are not part of the respondents. The purpose of the study is to determine if there
were still items in the questionnaire that were difficult to understand. After the validation,
the instrument was then provided for distribution and administration.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

The data gathered were carefully analyzed, tailed, and tabulated. The results
acquired from the tabulation was statistically treated using ranking, frequency and
percentage.
RANKING. Refers to the data transformation in which numerical or
ordinal values bare replaced by the their rank when the data are sorted.
Frequency and percentage were used to determined the student’s
response using the formula.
