● This was decided by the community at the inaugural


Libero Community Sprint in August 2018

Licensing

● A permissive MIT free open-source software license

● Documentation is under Creative Commons


Attribution License (CC_BY 4.0)

● All contributions under a Contributor License


Agreement that protects against patents, bad actors,
acquisitions or licensing changes
Maintenance
● Libero is principally maintained by eLife and the
community

● Three organisations signed an MOU in October 2018


to show a commitment to the project

● Two organisations will be using Libero Publisher


this year and eLife are planning to use it to run the eLife
journal
Support

● Is always available via the Libero Community Slack or


by raising an issue on GitHub

● Our growing ecosystem of service providers can offer


technical support alongside eLife people

● SLAs for bug fixes and security updates will be part of


the ecosystem offering
