Check the welding machine / generator, volt meters/ ampere meter are
in working condition

- Cables/ holder withstand maximum current requirement and

- Welding holder fully insulated

- Double earthing to be provided

- Protect Welding equipment from weather conditions

- Provide ELCB or RCCB


Obtain PTW from SE/ SS for welding on / inside any pressure vessels

containing or contained flammable/ explosive material
All flammable materials to be removed in the effected areas and at

lower levels
Provision to contain sparks/ molten metal to be made to protect others
4
at lower level
Welding face shield, safety shoe, hand gloves and protective clothing to
5
be worn by welders
Provide fire water to put out any smoldering or mini fires provide fire
6
extinguishers / fire buckets as required with a fire watch
7 Employ / engage qualified welder and provide fire watch

After completion of work, check if there is any smoldering or burning

around or below
